I second that. Even though I've got tickets for the July 19th SLC show, I would glady make the 8 hour drive to The Gorge any day.
Saw em there in '06. Quite a interesting vibration within a bowl of 30,000 Tool fans. Not to mention seeing at least 15,000 lighters lit at once is prettttay fuckin powerful when your trippin nuts.
Never doubt the power of The Gorge. I'm sure they love playing there for a few reasons. The acoustics are great, its surrounded by vineyards and the scenery makes The Gorge, in my opinion, the most inspiring outdoor venue to perform at. Red Rocks comes in a close second though.
Anyway, don't give up hope, I'm sure they wont forget about us over here on their way back to L.A. (they seem awfully generous these days with shows, this summer tour came outa no where)

I noticed that Blair also took down the Aug 8 date. At least I think that he had it posted earlier this week.
I wonder if Lollapoolooza didnt want it up since they have not officially announced the days everyone will be playing.

I know you pick wine grapes in Sept.-Oct....I'm wondering if Maynard has some kind of crap to do between these dates and maybe a west coast leg later on in the year or something.

Nah, it's still up if you go to the newsletter section. But you're right, it's not up in the TOUR section.
I'm still guessing that the Northeast and/or upper Midwest will get a show or two between Aug 1 and Aug 6. Then SoCal (according to Blair) will get that show "off the beaten track" sometime. Still hoping for that Vegas date though...

there is a hotel next to the arena. w/in walking distance across the parking lot. its a big complex with convention center, arena, etc...
I've been to 2 shows there ( Tool, APC) dont know what you mean by cheap . I dont recall what we paid for a room but it wasnt bad.
not having to drive after the show= priceless
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
So I just got an email from the ticketbastards that Tori Amos will be playing the Nokia in Dallas the night before Tool. What are the odds she shows up, and they bust out Muhammad My Friend. HAHA!!!

I think it's a Holiday Inn. Quite nice. Very new. I believe I paid around $130 in 2007. Well well worth the extra money to walk. The parking lot was a zoo getting out for those that drove.
We walked over to a restaurant also in the parking lot and partied for a while with some other fans.

yea its a Holiday Inn, just checked.
$110 a night, yea its pricey but for the pleasure of not having to drive in that circus its worth it to me. I live in south GA so we have to have somewhere to sleep, I'm not driving 3 hrs back home that night. I'm debating taking my 7 yr old son who is also a huge Tool fan. It'd be his first concert

As long as you get seats (not floor) it will be fine to bring the little guy. And what a story for when he gets older...

That would be pretty sweet, but according to her website she's in Austin on the 25th.

That's no debate. Absolutely bring him, especially if he's a fan. But yeah, get seats up to see the visual experience and away from the mayhem.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Just got my Dallas tickets in today...Planning on coming down from Tulsa early day of the show.... Anyone staying at the Hyatt ? I cant wait to see them in that venue!!! I saw The Offspring there a couple Wednesdays ago... GREAT looking place!!! See you gentlemen at the show.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Man, I woke up today at 10 to buy Fairfax tickets and just now found out I was a day late >=( I still got tickets, but there in 107 row Z, which I can only guess is against the wall.

It's all good, you should have a great view of the visual show as a whole from the back of the arena. I prefer to be back a little bit at Tool shows anyway. I just feel lucky that one of the dates on this short tour is within driving distance.
Good luck to everyone buying tix this morning. Fuck ticket bots!
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I am kicking myself in the ass. I had two tickets in section 24 for San Antonio, but I had two windows open looking for tickets and this caused my order to error. Settled on 225 row 4. At least it'll be a good view of the stage.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
getting my phoenix ticket in 30. should be exciting. just so make sure, if i choose the "Best Available" for both the section and location tabs, what is the order they would come up to me? Pit first? then the better seats? what section has first priority in best available i guess is what im asking.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
It'll come up pit first then side seating on the lower section, probably side balcony then back lower seats and back balcony. I would go with best available, general admission sells out pretty quick usually.

You're welcome, DHarv.
So far I don't think any of the shows for this tour have seated floor.. so I would bet on general admission.

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
this is always such a nerve-racking ordeal, tool tickets.
sec 106 row 1!
nevermind.. end stage it is.
Floor was seated, by the way. my buddy didn't want floor cuz it costs more money to have some tall mo'fucka like myself block the view for you. i figure row 1 will be elevated a bit, should have a good gander. Cheers!

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Scored almost exactly what I wanted. Section 116, row 11. Just off to the side. Low enough for a good view and high enough (I hope) to enjoy some of the floor show.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Hey Sven, looks like I'll be seeing you there bro. Got 225 as well.
Two questions:
1.) Is there a number I can call to talk to an actual ticketmaster person?
2.) Seeing how I got in sec 225, even though I was trying to buy at 10 fucking a.m. on the dot, how's the show going to be? Is this like way far away, or is decently close?
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
cheesegreater, go look right now there are a lot of lower level seats still up if you wouldnt mind nabbing better ones. you can always sell the others. your call, just letting you know bud
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
hm. yeah i guess i jumped the gun on that statement...ive been looking for 3 together, not 6. I assume you want 6 together, in which case i dunno if theres much better than what you got
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
hey guys, a little input for a less experienced concert-goer would be greatly appreciated. which seats are better, Section 108 Row 4 (Seats 20-21), Section 109 Row 7 (Seats 8-9), or Section 116 Row 26 (Seats 12-13)?
