I've had the same problem in the past.
Trust me - no matter what they play this tour - it's ALWAYS better to go in blind not knowing. hearing a song like pushit (or anything for that matter that you wanted) is just that much better when you didn't expect it.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Yeah, for real. I kind of miss the past when such information was harder to find and easier to avoid. I don't think I knew of anywhere to find a set list from a tool show during the Lateralus tours, and I am glad that I didn't.
I suppose that since this tour is looking like it will only be a few weeks long it will be easier to do this rather than having to hold out for months.

Because, in my opinion, the 10K Days tour was, in my opinion, far weaker than any of the previous tours I saw and, in my opinion, this tour might, just might.... suck.
I don't have any idea what we'll get and neither do you. We'll have to wait and see.
MIGHT? What is there to wait for? You should just sit this one out dude--DEFINATELY make that decision now. Just think, no waiting + no sucking = we won't ever have to read another encouraging and enlightening post from you again!
I mean, considering how WEAK the band truly is, this whole tour GUARRANTEED to suck! :D Just wait for the YouTube clips--in my opinion, it's like the same thing but you don't have to pay to hear loud sucky music, see all those bright and colorful lights, or have any kind of emotional experience/connection with anyone or anything. After viewing fragmented cell phone video clips, you can mosey on down the page and comment on how much the show sucks based on the clips you saw. As an added bonus, you are sure to find some like-minded individuals in that YouTube comments section.

It's like knowing where your parents hid the xmas presents....hahah.
I wanna say I'm with you, but I don't know that I can fully commit at this time. :)

Just checked the tour section of ToolArmy and no info on presales. These elusive presales must be for the Super Secret Extra Special members of which I am not worthy.

It's it the exact same set as I got at the Ampitheatre in 06 and Copps in 07, I might just pass.
You should definitely pass. You and that other dude I quoted above should kick it during the show, play Opiate all night discuss nothing but the band's heyday and how it's passed. To keep the talk from getting too stagnant, maybe consider peppering it with some mentions of how much they now "suck".
Another option is to simply hand write a sincere letter to the band expressing your concerns, wishes, and desires (feel free to expand well beyond your setlist grief). I guarantee that they will not only care, but will deliver on catering to your feelings.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
so, has anyone heard anything about that st. paul date lately? i'm thinking of heading to chicago to see them play lolla, but if they really are doing xcel the next day i'll have to pick between the two (i was kind of hoping to hit both). i saw them at xcel on the last tour, which is why i'm feeling inclined to make the trip to chicago... what do you guys suggest?

I'd give it a shot at 10, see what you can pull up, if nothing good- try again tomorrow.
BTW, ticketmaster has a 10am on-sale as well.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
just got CLT single GA Floor with no problem. was on LN at 10am and the "Find Tickets" link sent me over to TM for which i was not logged in. but it all worked out well. hope others had equally good luck.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Picked up 2 floor tix for both Charlotte and Fairfax. Not sure I'm gonna be able to make Fairfax, but feels good to buy TOOL tix again.
Ticketmaster succeeded in freaking me out again though. Got the "We're sorry but there was an error...." page after I submitted my order. I got the confirmation email and it's listed in my ticketmaster orders so luckily I saw that before buying more.

Hell yeah man, getting Tool tickets is better than Christmas!
I picked up 2 tix for the Fairfax show as well, section 103 row G I think. I'm taking a female friend who is mostly into country music and doesn't know a single tool song. I think GA floor would be a little bit too much for her lol. Hopefully she will be enlightened!

Ha Ha, so true.
Charlotte tickets were bitch this time, couldn't get anything close on the lower sides. Ended up taking two on the floor.
Fairfax wasn't so bad. Got one in 116 and one in 102.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
Scored four tix in sec 109 row G behind the box seats. Anybody know the arena I've never been there. I think buy the seating chart these are good but I would like another opinion.

Yeah I completely understand. All 3 Tool GA floor shows I've been to I had a chick with me. You end up spending half your time creating a wall for her rather than paying full attention to the show. After doing that twice I made the switch to seats as well. No chick with me this time so I'm gonna try and get as close as possible.

I really do not think that there are many, if any, bad seats at a Tool show. I've been up high in the back, on both sides, and up against the rail on the floor. In the back you get a great view of the entire visual show, on the sides the view is just about as good and you are a little closer to the stage, and obviously being on floor means you may be very close to the band.
Another thing that I have noticed before when using things such as "view from" tools on an arena's website is that it always looks further away from the stage than it actually is. I am quite certain that most people will feel that their seats are great once they get to the show.

I was trying for 107 or 108 myself, but 109 ain't bad. Good score.

Merry Toolmas!
I made it to the rail at a 2002 show and while it was a struggle getting there, it was well worth it. Good luck!

That really just depends on your preference. Some people prefer to be closer to the band and others prefer to be further back to take in a better view of the whole visual aspect of the show. You really can't go wrong at a Tool show with seating. No matter where you are, there is an advantage to being there.
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
