I'm already in for night 1 of Roger here in LA at Staples. One of the best performers out there. Not been a really big fan of 'in the round' concerts in the past but if anyone can pull it off, it's Roger.

How about Tool 'in the round' ha! I am sure Maynard would love that.

The only other concert that I've been to with a center stage setup like that was Peter Gabriel "Us" tour in the early 90s. It worked well and was a great show!

There was a time when it was pretty trendy.

Yes was the first one I saw. There used to be a theater in Orange county that all shows were in the round we saw a bunch of bands in the 80s there, it was pretty cool.

Right. That is the best examples I have of it working well - PG's Us and Up tours. Actually the Us tour had two stages, male/female. The center stage was the female, iirc. For Up, that was 100% in the round. Saw shows on both tours many times. Excellent.

The smoothie king center tonight is not allowing people to bring in poster tubes. Extremely lame...i had no issues taking a tube into the United Center a couple months ago in Chicago.

I don’t think Memphis allowed poster tubes in last night either.

Dallas venue emailed out that the tour security was not allowing tubes. Still saw people with tubes inside even though merch doesn't have them.

It seemed to come down from Tool that no poster tubes were allowed on the second leg. Both nights in Denver were cool, but not Glendale in January. Apparently the first Glendale date in November was allowing them.

I have a theory about the band trying to get a bunch of beat up posters out there to stimulate the collector’s market... but I like conspiracies

I doubt the fern would get through quarantine, however we have plenty of native varieties!

It's not my plant.
Last I heard it was retiring to a farm in either Camarillo or Sunland, CA.

I’ll have to trust your word. Most of my knowledge of Straya is from the children’s show Bluey that my kids watch.

Deftones just announced a North American tour as well. I got some decisions to make!

Things are starting to get a bit challenging on the tour front. I'd do that RATM show in Phx... but a Monday night? Ugh. Already seeing them at Coachella so that may have to do.

Really great one day festival in So CA with an awesome old school line-up announced today

https://cruelworldfest.com/

Back on the subject of Tool... who the hell announces a handful of tour dates then goes silent for a few weeks before announcing the rest?? Oh right... Tool.

Pity Morrissey is such a twat, kinda brings down the rest of that lineup

Yeah, it's kinda off - I have no doubt there are more dates coming, but the way they are being announced (or not announced) is a bit strange. I find it quite unlikely they will do Bonnaroo with no other complimentary dates for example.

Like part of me wants to really look into Deftones tickets, but I know I'll get fooled by Tool again the minute I do.

Had a similar thought as you for Morrissey. This will be my 4th time seeing him. He's an idiot. Shame because there are some good songs in there. And his touring band is top notch.

I'd love to believe the Tool tour announcements are somehow planned... but I've been around too long with this band. Their booking and promotions people have no idea what they are doing. But they are probably hindered in their ability to make decisions/commitments by the band. And most likely it's Maynard causing the trouble.

Not trying to be a negative Nancy, but Deftones in an arena or amphitheater doesn’t really compare to seeing them at a club. Definitely lacks intensity.

Honestly, I'm just sitting on it right now. I really have a feeling Tool is going to announce more tour dates after they get back from Australia.

2020 is shaping up to be INSANE especially if the rumored Primus tribute to Rush tour actually happens.

Some new shows were added....you may get lucky. Including a Detroit one.

Was able to get a pair of lower level tickets for the Detroit 7/13 show.

RATM was there and played right after Tool the first time I saw them.

That probably ruined me on Rage since I never got into them. Although I met Tom Morello a few years later and he was pretty cool, so there's that.

PS I have it on good authority that the Primus Rush tour is actually happening.
