Thinking about making the trip from Chicago to this show just wanted to post a few things for anyone interested:
1) Seating is reserved on the floor, so no GA this show. I prefer this but I know some people hate the chairs on the floor
2) Has anyone ever been to this arena before or heard anything about it? On the website it is all High School graduation ceremonies and then randomly Tool
I have been to this arena before to see another rock concert and it's a good venue. It's a lot smaller than the big arena's. I believe there is only arond 8000 seats available for tool. I think this will sell out fast so don't delay if you want to go....
hey guys,
wanted to apologize for posting earlier that it was reserved seating on the floor. When i checked metrotix earlier in the week it had a seating chart with reserved seating and tickets for the floor and lower arena were 67 dollars and upper deck was 57 dollars. Then on Friday it was changed to GA floor and 55/45 for lower and upper arena respectively. Kind of odd last minute change, but not complaining.
Anyways, got tickets for section 107, should be an awesome show
If you're a good-looking chick you can come sleep in my bed.
This should be cool. I can't believe tickets are cheaper than they are for AiC/Deftones/Mastodon.

My floor tickets for this show came in the mail this afternoon. Logged onto Metrotix @ 10am Saturday to ensure I'd get floor....saw them like 8 years ago downtown STL and had seats and was wishing the whole time I'd had floor.
Saw a Weezer show at Family Arena in high school, pretty decent venue. Small compared to Savvis Center downtown, so preferable. Very glad it went GA - had also seen it being as reserved last week and was bummed, hate chairs.
Bought tickets the other day. I like that this show is only like a week into the tour, which should make it easier to not read (identical) setlists and kill any chance of surprise (even though there probably won't be much of one anyway).
Does anyone remember what the new cover they were supposed to debut last summer was? That would be a nice treat, as I would assume it would be ready by now.

blair talked about it in the february newsletter...
Q: “What was the elusive cover that I heard about on the last mini-tour?”
A: Although I don’t know the name of the song (because I’m not that familiar with the band), it was a tune by THE GOD MACHINE. Having played it at one of the ‘dress rehearsals’ that I attended, it was later decided by the band not to perform it during the tour. The reason might have had something to do with the untimely death of the band’s bass guitarist, Jimmy Fernandez, who was a friend of Justin’s. A lot of people thought that the cover might have been a short version of Pink Floyd’s “On the Run”, but this mistake undoubtedly was due to a similar sounding patch/sequence on Danny’s EMS Synthi AKS.
So does anyone think the setlist will change significantly from the last tour? I say no, but it sure as fuck would be nice.

Section 107 row C. Hope it's not too close to the front of the stage. Got them right at 10AM. Should have waited a few minutes to get a little further back. Sure it will be awesome.
Wonder who will open?
Also staying at the Country Inn and Suites across from the Ameristar Casino. Looks like it's walking distance. Anybody confirm that is familiar with the area?

That hotel is about 2 miles away from the Family Arena. Google guesses it will take 41 minutes to walk it.
I have aisle seats in 117, should be perfect. Walking to the Ameristar area would be a little too far but a cab would be like 7 dollars. I am looking at a layout for the show and the breakdown for seats are as follows:
The Scottrade Center back in 2007 was sold out and at about 14,000 so this is smaller. I am surprised they booked this venue but I like seeing shows in different venues so I am happy.

6/23/10 Ford Arena. 6/26/10 Family Arena
should be a nice intimate show.. seems like everybody got section 117. it really is the sweet spot. i need to find a hotel soon. something within walking distance so i dont have to fuck with parking.

I live in the area and I will tell you right now that the closests hotel you can get is the Ameristar Hotel, and it is about a 40 minute walk from the Arena. The Family Arena is not really near anything.
Maybe someone can help me out here. I'm trying to book a hotel for the night since I'm making the trip from Chicago however all the hotels on priceline say I have to be 21 or older to book any of the hotels in the area. I'm only 19 so this obviously blows. Is this some stupid Missouri law that says its 21 to book a hotel and not 18, or am I just not looking at the right hotels? I cant get over how dumb this is. Im an adult damnit!
If anyone can give me the name of a hotel or confirm that it is missouri law for 21 or tell me that priceline is wrong, it'd be greatly appreciated. And yes, I will call some of these hotels myself so dont bother pointing that out.
I don't know for sure about the 21 to get a hotel room thing...but when I was 19 my friends and I on a whim decided to go to KC. We wanted to grab a hotel room to crash for the night and walked into a Holiday Inn or similar. Lady at the desk told us we had to be 21. But we told her our situation and PROMISED to be good and not party/trash the room etc and she relented and gave us one w/our credit card on file. We were honest and just showered/crashed there. But we may have been lucky.
I drove by the arena on Saturday, and I got pretty excited when I saw how small it was.
Also, I'm totally down to party afterward too, whether it's at someone's house, hotel room, or rape shed, or just a bar somewhere.

Booked my room last night. Staying at the Holiday Inn Express by Dave and Busters and Harrahs. Gonna hit up both of those spots and the pool. Also for $5 the hotel threw in free transportation within a 5 mile radius and $20 for Dave and Busters. The weekend is shaping up nicely. Stopping at Darcys pint in Springfield on the way there (from chicago) . I don't know how many of you are familiar with St. Louis, but verizon amphitheatre is the big outdoor venue for StL and Lynard Skynard is playing there the same night as the Tool show. I'm expecting my hotel to be crazy. Doubt I will sleep after the show. Stopping at penny lane in Springfield on the way back. Setlist is looking beautiful.

I'm avoiding setlists to maintain some element of surprise. Unfortunately, because I'm friends with some tdn-ers on Facebook, I already know about the two big surprises (maybe there are more than that?). Can someone tell me if the setlist is changing from show to show? (I doubt it, but I'm fine as long as they play the two songs I heard about, I'm happy.)

So far, just two shows, no changes.
