Get in line early.
When the doors open keep a close eye out for what line is moving best. At BG some security guards take searching more serious than others.
Dont get in my way.

At the Puscifer shows the last two nights, we were informed several times while walking in that using our cell phones to photograph or video any part of the performance would result in ejection. I heard from someone who got caught that they just made you delete the photo/video. But either way, it was damn refreshing to watch a show without cell phones sticking up in the air all over the place. Damn. Refreshing.

Exactly!
The last Tool show I was at in SD last spring, they were ejecting people for having their phone out during the show. Pretty much zero tolerance. People around me started clapping when a dude in front of us got ejected.
I love the no phone policy!!

I'm glad you asked.
The Rev. Billy Graham, who rose to prominence in the 1940s as a charismatic orator with a heart for sharing his faith in Jesus Christ, is best known for his crusades that drew crowds that packed stadiums and other large venues for more than a generation.
Graham’s role as a spiritual advisor is well documented, but what might not be well known is how much of an impact he truly had on modern political history.
1. While his relationship with presidents has differed, Graham has met personally with a dozen presidents — from Harry S. Truman to Barack Obama.
What also might not be readily known is how much of a reach Graham’s messages have had in the past seven decades.
ALERT: When Do You Think Christ Is Returning? Vote Now
2. According to a CNN compilation on Graham’s life, the renowned preacher has spoken to more than 215 million people in more than 185 countries and territories.
Graham embraced the concept of civil rights before it became widely accepted throughout sections of the United States.
3. At a Jackson, Mississippi, revival in 1952, Graham removed the ropes that separated black and white sections of his audience. When the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. rose to prominence, Graham became a close ally.
Aspects of Graham’s home life have been widely circulated. His wife of 64 years, Ruth Bell Graham, died in 2007.
4. The couple had five children, all of whom have gone on to some form of ministry. The oldest of the Grahams’ children is Virginia (1945), followed by Anne Morrow (1948), Ruth Bell (1950), William Franklin III (1952), and Nelson Edman (1958).
Graham publicly has shied away from talking about any sort of celebrity status, preferring instead to shine the light on his Christian beliefs. But his notoriety in popular culture is represented through a number of gestures.
Latest News Update
5. Case in point: He has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. In fact, Graham was the 1,000th person to have a star installed.
6. Other signs of his influence are, perhaps, best represented by the fact he received an honorary knighthood by Sir Christopher Meyer at the British Embassy in Washington, D.C., in 2001.
VOTE NOW: Is Christ Returning?
7. Graham also has been recognized frequently as one of the 10 most admired men in the world by the Gallup organization.
Graham’s markings within the Christian community are also prevalent.
8. For example, he founded the long-running Christianity Today magazine — one of the most influential publications in the evangelical sphere.
9. Additionally, Graham served as president of Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, Minnesota.
10. Graham’s life and legacy are also represented at the Billy Graham Library, a popular museum in Charlotte, N.C., near his hometown. The 40,000-square-foot library and museum opened its doors in 2007.

Lucky, I would have loved to see that show if I wasn't 8 and not allowed to go to concerts. This NYE is 20 years since that show, just a random fact.
In some ways it is too bad they aren't playing with Tool in SF. Always wanted to see them play together. But as a huge Primus fan myself I am totally happy to see them on their own on NYE. Most Primus headline shows these days are two sets with no openers; first set is about an hour then second usually is about 90-105 mins. These Tool/Primus shows are mostly in sports arenas, which tend to have 11pm curfews. With an opener before Primus, they most likely will play less than an hour.
Just my opinion though. Know lots of casual Primus fans going to Tool might not want to pay for Primus separately, or care about a short set. I will say that the shows where they will open for Tool will show a lot of people how good Primus are live who haven't seen them yet; seeing them live is a whole other level than the records.

Funny that Tool is the kind of band where selling out in twelve hours is way slower than usual. Not too many hard rock bands where that is the case.

Primus was formed in the area I live and grew up. I know Larry Lalonde (have a few good storys too) and have been to more Primus shows than anyone else ive ever seen. We would go see them every weekend. They were formed out of another band called Blind Illusion.

im not gonna lie… Getting tickets, after trying for all the other california dates and getting nothing, was a good rush. Checking later and seeing they were on sale all day sort of took the wind out of my sails.
last min decision to buy 2 instead of 1. well, that makes things interresting.

Yeah it is nice. Even if you do manage to not peek at the setlist, there always seems to be people in the audience who have peeked at the setlist then talk about it out loud. I have no problem with people checking the setlist before, to each their own, but I feel it is disrespectful to talk about it out loud before the show starts/during the set change when there are people in the audience who prefer that surprise element. That happened to me at the Bill Graham in 2010 and 2014. So it will be cool that it wont happen this time at the BG.

Yep. At the Puscifer show in Austin MJK was introducing the band; stopped and said "can you put your damn phone away? Shit cant read, you dont listen, lets not ruin the show for people that have not seen it" LOL it was funny. He went on for a minute or so about having phones out during the show.....Some lady was videoing the majority of the show...

heh heh it's named after a different Bill GRaham.
The SF BG is a legend in the music industry and pretty much a God in the Bay Area.
You should read up on him, a true rock n roll legend.
NOT the whack-ass fake preacher.
Edit if that's what you are asking(/)

Got a extra hard ticket to the Saturday San Diego show. It is in the wheel chair section. Section V row 36. Face value. I called the venue and they said it is fine for people with working legs to sit there.

Hopefully we won't be standing in the rain, but bring a rain jacket.

SF peeps please explain - if the tenderloin is supposedly so ghetto how is the north eastern edge of it teeming with such high quality (ie $200++/night) hotels? is the tenderloin (or at least the edges of it) massively gentrified now? or has the perception always been wrong?
