I love that perspective kind of imagery. Could you possibly show a version of that without Tool across the front of it? I was sitting there thinking "why can't I see half the image...?" when I realised it actually said TOOL...
Good work though, I like the idea behind it... yes, behind it.
I love the abstract environments you can create with 3D programs, its something I'm just getting in to at the moment. You see some pretty amatuer renderings with spheres and reflections around, which don't really seem to offer much, and then there are some seriously cool ones, such as the one Method posted.
I can't take Mortiis seriously with those fucking latex ears. I find it very hard to take anyone who have been part of the norwegian (or any country for that matter) blackmetal scene seriously.
This thread has inspired some experimentation of my own. This is my first attempt at doing something which isn't an actual object, and I whipped it up pretty quickly. I played around a lot in photoshop once I'd exported it from 3dsmax. Its just a bit of fun, but I thought I'd show it in the hope of bouncing back some inspiration.

Those are just a couple from the top of my head.
There are more (good) metal bands from the North then from anywhere else.

I'm from sweden so i know about nordic metal. I used to listen to bands like Dissection, Mayhem and Emperor but now i just find them pathetic. Noone can look evil in spandex.

Why are you guys looking at the people who play in the band and not at the music?
The main reason you have to like a band is there music, not the looks.
If you are playing in a Metal band doesn't mean you have to look evil, or else there will almost be nothing left of the Metal genre.

No, you dont have to look evil but these guy obviously try to. Their failure to do so makes them pathetic. AND their music is monotome and generally sucks. Again, the ambition to portray themselves as evil makes the image AMD the music turn out ridiculous. Just read their pretentious fucking lyrics.

Ah ok, so the intention to look evil + the lack of inspiration in there lyrics makes them look and sound, shitty... That seems fair enough.
Lately I haven't been using max for stuff like this, i've been using music for that sort of expression, but I've become quite a bit better with max, so maybe one day i'll try my hand at that again.
