Here are what I could best make out of the lyrics. The only word I kept on the fence was sun/son because you could logically interpret it as both ways (figurative or literal). But I forced decisions everywhere else. There are a few words I haven't heard anyone say before, so maybe I lucked out (No one saw "cozened" or "siblings" coming). Or maybe i'm embarrasingly wrong. Oh well, here it is.

not saying "winch" makes perfect sense... other than a winch to lower a casket... (his mother's casket.. even though someone said she was cremated) so just because we cant make perfect sense of the "winch" ... it's pretty irrelevant. He chose it for a reason.. and it makes sense to him.
and i hear ya... it's undeniable that it clearly sounds like winch... but trust me, if ya scroll back on the thread... I've had plenty tell me I'm baked.. and "it doesnt even sound like that" sort of reply... and 99% will still say that.

At the end of the mess of words (no prize you could hold, sway, etc.) sounds like "kneel and await my sentence" a little bit. Now if I could just make sense of the rest of that section up to that point... I also hear "awake my center," though. AAAAAH! Frustrating.

I have to agree with "Silence legion", it just makes more sense lyrically than "Silent legions / Silently, just". What exactly is a legion that is silent? If it is "silently, just" than who is he telling to be silent? It seems that at the end he is yelling at the demons tormenting him telling them to shut up and to torment him no longer. These two lines have always kept me from signing on to the Jesus interpretation. If this were an ironic song about christianity, these lines don't fit. Anyway, why revisit that religion when Opiate already so handily smacked that subject down?
This does, however, fit well with the Maynard's son interpretation.
The 'devil' is the music industry and he's 'shafted' it with songs that contain vulgarity or subject matter that make them unsuitable for airplay (or are just too long.) But he has had great success anyway. (And Tool too, though he's had success with APC as well.)

When I listen to the timing here I get the impression that he's using the "no" for both lines. He's saying he doesn't want to wish it all away but also doesn't want to lose his center. disclaimer: im going by the cardinal rule that if what I hear does not make any sense whatsoever, I'm probably not hearing it quite right...
I'd cite that rule for this one:
"if they should compromise our fulcrum, want and need, if i need it, i might as well be gone"
"silent legion"
silent is not a command it's an adjective. silent legion, dormant demons, internal devils, what have you. "silent legion say your poison" = come out of your silence - it would be like saying "hidden devil come into the light so that I might slay thee"
you can see why he went with his version, tis a tad bit catchier
"I said I'm" = 3 syllables
"my center" / "my saturn" = 3 syllables
I fail to see the problem
I did hear "om" and "home" as well, but once I thought of "all", that's definitely what I hear now.
As far as the whole "i said I'm" thing... let reason guide your ear. The concern is that this important other is going away, is slipping away. I'd cite that rule for this one:

silent is not a command it's an adjective. silent legion, dormant demons, internal devils, what have you. "silent legion say your poison" = come out of your silence - it would be like saying "hidden devil come into the light so that I might slay thee"
you can see why he went with his version, tis a tad bit catchier
"I said I'm" = 3 syllables
"my center" / "my saturn" = 3 syllables
I fail to see the problem
I did hear "om" and "home" as well, but once I thought of "all", that's definitely what I hear now.

Actually he never changes voice, it's always first person, "I do", "I would", "lose you", etc. He does change to past tense for "The devil and his" through to "turned me round" and for "Prayed like a martyr" through "got what I wanted all along". But, at this point he's back to present tense and still in the first person.
And you're right "my center" and "I said I'm" match for syllabels but I definitely hear "I'm".

As far as "my center" goes, the person he's singing to is NOT his center but the counter balance on the other side of the fulcrum.

I'm not quite sure what you mean, but I'll try to explain my understanding again. "legion" is a biblical reference to internal demons. "silent legion" is the force within that tempts you away from what part of you needs - greed, lust, thirst for power, whatever. he is blaming this force for the division he experiences (between want and need, if you will). the mystery, the internality of this force is what renders it "silent". he wants this force to die, thus "say your poison". it's a double death as the silence that characterizes this legion would also be broken.

But it does make sense. He prayed and begged for success then shafted the devil yet still got what he wanted all along. Both ways work, but "shafted" has the important difference that he did not sell his soul. The way he sings this makes it sound as though, while he got what he wanted, the devil did not.

I pretty much rule out 'tempted the devil with my song' in favor of 'shout to the devil' firstly because that's really what I hear, and the song seems to be song from a powerless and desperate standpoint. It's a struggle for this individual to resist temptation, even if the cost is all he holds dear. He can't be doing the tempting...let alone tempting Satan.
I'm 100% sure he's saying 'Damn my eyes' 3 times in a row. If temptation is that much of a struggle for him, especially with it being so accessible to him (in all its forms) then it would seem to me that sight would be almost a curse. Therefore, to loudly proclaim his disdain for that weakness by 'damning' his eyes (because he would rather not have the choice at all?) makes sense to me.
