if Lateralus is 5stars, then 10kdays is just 4,5 for me, but if lateralus can get it's well deserved 6 out of 5, then 10kdays is 5stars. (a historical masterpiece compared to a brilliant album.)
****1/2 - though cursed with unbearable expectations, an album that slowly grows on you with its subtle beauty and overwhelming honesty (and of course great music.)

Almost knocked it down a half a star for "Lipan Conjuring", but the album, particularly "Rosetta Stoned", is so astonishing it deserves five stars.

5 stars!!! i can't stop sucking the blood out of it. as usual, i attribute a lot of its greatness to the title track. god dammit they've managed to do this on every album. but 10,000 days the song is something i would've never expected and i can't even describe it, it's completely in a league of its own...fuckin beautific edgar allan poe shit...dark, passionate, truthful, completely from the heart, and one of the deepest most touching creations of art ive ever heard. way to go tool.
of course the album is still second to lateralus, but that was a given. they will probably never make an album that will top lateralus. i wonder if they were doing a lot of acid when they made lateralus.

I choose this rating because, in my opinion, 10,000 Days shows sheer genious, and something new to TOOL's line of creativity. They brought this album in, leaving us guessing more and more each day, still almost 4 months later, about the things that aren't even as vague as most albums. This album shows compassion for personal matters, and argues with thoughts of the masses, etc... TOOL will never cease to amaze me with what they produce for us to hear, and induldge in. I will always support them 100% with every album they make, and, not because I feel obligated to lift a higher light for them, just so the others can agree as well, but, because, I always tend to look deeper into the music, and let it sink in so it doesn't seem bland to me. Take care.

I choose this rating because, in my opinion, 10,000 Days shows sheer genious, and something new to TOOL's line of creativity.
