I'm curious if there's a common musical taste/background, because personally I feel there's a serious undeniable lack of good song writing/dynamics on this album, but that's coming from my point of view... I was wondering if there was anyway we'd be able to draw connections between the people who like it, and what other albums/bands they connect 10,000 days to. It's kinda weird to say, but I guess, when you listen to 10,000 Days, what bands and other things are you reminded of that makes it desirable for you to listen to?
Because when comparing it to my favorite albums of late I am able to clearly see that there's a huge discrepancy in just about every part of 10,000 Days, in relation to those albums.

the new album is great. it's like a roller coaster ride, or an acid trip. just when you think you got it figured it out, it takes an unexpected turn or twist. as far as my favorite music:
TOOL
led zeppelin
the doors
pink floyd
audioslave
system of a down
primus
nin
i think the album has a lot of pink floyd and zeppelin influence. i can see also where the guys have been listening to messugah (sp?). i think maybe, i could be wrong here, but the guitar work on the second track reminds a little bit of tom morello

LOVE this album...I seriously think it might take the place of Aenima as my favorite album of all time...it might take some people a little longer to 'get it' though...just be patient with it and take the time to absorb it...this music is definitely ahead of it's time, no doubt
Anyway, my musical interests are:
Tool

Rancid
Deftones
Elton John
Beatles
Phil Collins

After multiple listens, I've come to really enjoy most of the album, but still feel that it doesn't live up to either Aenima or Lateralus. It's hands down the best album I've heard in a long time, however I can't say that I'm not somewhat dissapointed.

ummm...they haven't released anything.
I don't really connect Tool with any other bands. They aren't like anything else I'm listening to these days. Lately, the cds that find themselves in my cd player the most are the White Stripes and Jack Johnson (occasionally house music)...

For me Muse takes the spot of APC, but they're still right up there.
