im sick of all this alex grey super psychadelic brightly coloured extra detailed wanky artwork, alex grewys stuff is amazing and i liked the lateralus album art.

but for the next album i want to see more of the wierd dark stuff adam did with the previous albums. and those leaked scans seem pretty promising as they looks similar to old stuff he did on undertow and aenima.

luke browns stuff looks like someone ate 3 packs of crayons and spewed up into geometric shapes.

I believe this all legit bases on one simple thing. On Adam's myspace he's been dicking around w/ stereoscopic pictures. All three of these fakes are stereoscopic. (cross your eyes at about 2-3 feet away. there will be three images, focus on the middle and the middle image will become 3-D)

considering this is the same thing adam has been doing for a while on his myspace, i think it warrents some credence. plus i tried the eye crossing thing w/ the maynard and the skull picture, its bad ass, try it out.

I'd side with you...but the ark would make a little more sense (I hope)...

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe the band made them and everything, but they're not actually going to be in the album artwork. I'm just loving my theory about the smoke and mirrors way too much. After like 2 seconds of looking at it, that was the first thing I focused on. So, I want to believe so badly that its them screwing with us, saying that this artwork "leak" was intentional.

But then again, I'm not the guy that knows the original source. If the guy actually works for a printing company or whatever, I'd change my mind. But initially it didn't sound like the guy who posted them here knew for sure where the guy got them.

The stereoscopic stuff is cool though. However, the fact that adam posted so much about them and that Mutter Museum place on his myspace deal makes it a lot easier to fall for their shit if they are indeed fake though. The skulls/fetus stuff looks pretty similar to the stuff found at the museum.

it's a lot easier than you think....if you remember those 3d computer art images that were big about 10 years ago, like that

if not, bring up the stereoscopic image and tilt your head back a little so that the tip of your nose is even with the image...then softly try to look at the tip of your nose...the 2 sterescopic images will blur and a 3rd image in the middle will appear....immediately focus your vision from the tip of your nose to the middle image and really focus in on it until it "locks", then it will look amazing, especially this one: http://spectraleyes.com/albums/artwo..._web.sized.jpg

it isnt going 3d at all with any of the images i try.

i can get them to get blurred, and when i look in the middle the skull is just kind of blurred with the fetus thing and thats it.

edit: maybe this is it, i got it to show like 4 skulls instead of 2.

I think you're going to break your eyes doing that. Should be aiming for 3 I think. If you're getting 4, the two middle ones should combine into a single middle one.

Are you using a flatscreen or CRT monitor? I'm on a CRT here and I can "do" the images, but it's hard to get it to lock and it makes my eyes ache, both of which I'm guessing are down to the screen refreshing. Maybe try on a flatscreen instead if you have one? If not, just cross your eyes while looking at the image and try to move the two halves until a third image appears in the middle. Make sure you have your head level as well but checking that the bottom edges line up.

perhaps the packaging will come with some sort of apparatus that will make these easier to see

im on a CRT, if i tilt my head back my nose is aligned with the wall above my computer, i can get aligned if i slouch down low in my seat and then tilt back, but i just feel like a fucking idiot, and its hurting my eyes god damn it.

someone should do it then press print screen and host it.
