Lateralus eye

Does the flaming eye in Lateralus have some kinda meaning or is it just a flaming eye?
I don't know what's behind it but it fascinates me alot.

I don't know. That's why it is fascinating. It's quite mysterious and I just like eyes...Maybe somehow artistically...dunno...it's just so...nice.

And I want it in a t-shirt.

Was there something else with that eye? I want a black shirt with only the eye.

I fear I have a obsession with eyes...

well... no it was a black sweater with only the original lateralus eye... vey nice... it had some kind of extra colors round the eye... not the excisted ones... but more.. makes it extradimensional... i loved it.. when i got back to get it it was sold out.... still hoping for it to come...

but to anwser your question... YES only the eye

It does not....in my opinion...

If you think ne Tool fan knows it represents the third eye (or it's opening), you should really check out the first page of this opinion section. It might not be the third eye...or it might be the third eye....who the fuck knows!?....it is what it means to you....it might mean to you the third eye...it does not mean it to me....yes, it was your opinion, and I'm kinda thankful of it but really you should not say "ne Tool fan knows it means...."every Tool fan might not think as you think....anyway....thank you for posting your opinion....it will be noticed....

Sorry for being a prick. But we/you/I/he/she might not think as a "typical Tool-fan."

If you were just joking...i'm sorry for my ranting...i'm anyway sorry for my ranting...but never say "ne Tool-fan knows it"....sorry for this shit....

To me the eye represents humans. The eye is negative and surrounding the eye is a spiralling force of positive energy. As we become more spiritual we move out of the eye and stop thinking like a human, we move into the positive energy and start our spiritual developement from there.

Ok...well here's my take on it since I really wondered where it came from. After doing LSD with the guitarist from my band (the most intense tool fan I know that led me to spirituality and the other members too). He took me in a dark room lit a candle and told me to stare at it for 20 seconds while trying to see that there were 2 flames, the picture from my right eye and the left eye. He told me to try and focus on the one that was less apparent. After doing this I thought the guy was going crazy or just pulling my chain but I thought he was a good friends and would give it a shot. Then he put the lights on and told me to stare at the light bulp for a 30 seconds so I did. Then he told me to close my eyes in the dark and try to focus on the spot that the light had made in my vision, You know when you stare a the sun too long and there's a spot of blur.

Second thing he told me was to stare at my eyes in the mirror with only a candle light. I focused like those 3d pictures that I couldn't see before or like a mandala.

After all this I saw nothing but I decided to try it when I was only hig on weed. That's whe nothing else happenned ;-)
Try it for YOUR SELF and maybe it can help you...as it did for me. So good to see you, I missed you so much...so glad it's over.

Peace

Never necessary...always complimentary. Instead of taking drugs take a nice cup of tea listen to lateralus look at some Alex Gray artwork, relax, meditate for 15 minutes. That may help you see...

Peace

if my energy level is high enough (while on acid or after celestine prophecy style energy-raising or something like that), i see something like the eye wherever i focus my attention... it doesn't really look like an eye as such, but it's the same general shape and colours. i dunno if this is what the artwork is supposed to point to or not though.

just to bestow some knowledge on those who are unknowledgeable in the third eye department, in the video for parabola, two of the eyes you are speaking of go through the body starting from the feet then flow through the chest representing kundalini, which for you unknoledgeable people again is the symbol where two snakes wrap around a three and half times, i know you've seen it before, anyways, then the eyes go up to where the third eye would be on the body and form together the third eye.

you expressed that people shouldn't act like they're the elite holders of knowledge.

"just to bestow some knowledge on those who are unknowledgeable in the third eye department"
"which for you unknoledgeable people again"

..you were acting like the elite holder of knowledge. no other kind of person would say those words.
