Spoiler alert and yes. https://imgur.com/a/j1EM0qc That show was so out of left field with the song selection I was blown away.

It'll come at some point. But really hard to complain about a set that finally eliminates Schism and 46&2. Great songs but this was some much needed change. I mean Hooker, Descending and RIT? I thought sure we were being trolled. It's like a fan wishlist.

Wow, that set list is amazing. I get to see them on Thursday. No 7empest will be a bummer, but in the 8 other times I've seen them I have never heard Pushit, Right in Two or The Patient live. So I will absolutely take those 3 songs over 7empest if that is still the set 2 nights from now.

I caught The Patient in Modesto and it was fantastic.

Agree about Schism and 46&2

I'm just dying to hear as much of FI live as possible!

Totally agree. I believe they did one show(?) where they had FI, Pneuma, Descending, Invincible and Tempest all in the same set. But that seems unlikely to happen regularly. I am guessing because Tempest was not ready for the start of this tour, they did Descending instead. And that may well be the song that gets swapped out when Tempest finally does get performed. Hope I am wrong.

Great show in Boise last night. The team really out did themselves on the visuals for the new stuff. FI and Pnuema were mind boggling great. Had to give a slow clap to the way they "drew down" Right in Two. It was graceful I guess would be the word? There was a technical snafu 1/4 the way thru Pushit. Took 5-10 minutes to get back up and running. Maynard- "where were we?" they jumped right back in and killed it. Was so nice to hear The Patient live. Been waiting for that one for a long time. One gripe - Maynard needs to put away the bullhorn on Hooker. But the background they used was hilariously perfect for that one.

So has there been any intro to RIT like Intension? When RIT was broken out at Red Rocks back in 2010(?) I was shocked to hear it coupled with the intro. I vividly remember telling all the Denver hipsters to STFU for the FIRST TIME THIS SONG HAS EVER BEEN PLAYED!

lol I'm such a grouch

I did go. Got 3rd row right in front of Justin. Culling Voices was a huge surprise. They all 4 sat in a circle at the front of the stage and played it (yup, even Maynard). Then closed with Invincible. It was Adam’s b’day, too. MJK sang happy birthday to him believe during Opiate. Really great show. Heading to SF now to see it again tonight.

They just returned to their regular spots for the heavy part (just with a slightly longer bridge)

They used to do a similar thing for Pushit back in the day.

Very cool to see them come full circle

Terrific show tonight in Anaheim (which is not LA, Maynard). But the lesser of the 3 performances I have seen, so far. There was constant feedback from a bass frequency they never quite dialed in. Play was a bit sloppy too (says this Tool fan!). Setlist-wise they did The Patient, which was cool. But they did it at the expense of removing Right In Two instead of Culling Voices. Not cool. On the upside, Maynard was in a good mood and told a funny story about In N Out. Invincible delivered as always. Off to San Diego for tomorrow's show!

From all of us that don't live in LA: if it touches LA, it's LA. I've heard the same argument from the other coast: Brooklyn isn't NYC. To all of us plebeians in the middle it's all the same.

I suspect that if MJK referred to OC as LA it was sarcasm and or snark.

He's spent enough time in the Southland to know the difference

Nice! As always thanks for the update. Just over 2 weeks until New Orleans with a new job only weekend shows for me for a while...

I still can't believe there is a giant gap in dates and no Atlanta, Charlotte or Raleigh shows. 😞

It's just a planned mid-tour break. They did one in 2020, as well.

Just something quickly for the record- Tool’s San Diego show on Wednesday is one of their best performances in all the times I have seen them. They really have figured out a way to make what is basically a basketball arena sound truly amazing.

Just something quickly for the record- Tool’s San Diego show on Wednesday is one of their best performances in all the times I have seen them. They really have figured out a way to make what is basically a basketball arena sound truly amazing.

"Yeah Tool is fucking amazing. But there’s a big chunk of their fan base that think they’ve become thought provoking geniuses just from listening to them."
