So no one checked out Blair's post yesterday? Not really any news to report. But there is this...

“Everyone knows that the band is still working on their new record, and that there’s really no other major news other than that.”

“No, you’re wrong. There are certain things that people need to know about. Things that finally need to be revealed – concerning the new record and other band related matters. Things that I’ve been holding back… for years… because I felt that I had to, but now it’s time to make them public. Only, we’re stuck in this desert hellhole… up to our lug nuts in burning sand…”

Yep, been there, done that. It's hard to get overly excited about news that never seems to get announced. I imagine it's pretty frustrating for Blair as well.

I just want new Tool music period. Through the help of assorted bootlegs and you tubes I could get several versions of Tool songs. Any new tour means new Tool even if they play the same set lists over and over. but I have 30 different versions of Lateralus and Stinkfist and Schism etc...Am i losing interest? on my iphone (earlier was ipod) i used to skip music to get to Tool songs, lately I have actually skipped Tool music to get to other songs. Christmas is too far away. New Tool NOW
Happy 4th to you

I'm sure they feel the same way about playing the same songs tour after tour. Sure they mix it up bit by bit but, with as much as everyone has going on Im not surprised things aren't moving any faster. I just hope (and highly doubt it will) that their waining interest/focus on Tool reflect in the quality of their next release. OR it could be something so epically complex to the point where they're awarded nobel prizes for their contributions to science and mathematics… who the fuck knows. I try to have a little faith in those guys and I keep telling myself Ive gotten everything i ever paid for- and then some. they don't owe me anything and it is what it is. Id rather have no album than a shit album. I have been pushing myself towards not wanting a new album and just being grateful for what they HAVE given me. Maybe ill get something fresh and new someday, and it'll be a new rabbit hole to keep me busy for a while… but then what? start demanding more… again? how long until the new NEW album? what are the Odds they'll call it quits on TOOL after this and retire? Maybe they're writing 10 albums and we'll have a new album every so often for the next century or so, like 2pac. Fuck it.

Unfortunately, i will not be going to Aftershock but i will be scanning the internet soon after for "new" Tool bootlegs of that show and Voodoo Fest. i dont like to miss any show here in Northern California.
Im trying hard to keep the faith, Tool has given me plenty. I agree they don't owe us anything. If Tool does retire I definitely feel we deserve an "official" statement from the band letting us fans know about it rather than having us wait yet again. I apologize for the rant, I should just Let this Go(fill in a long scream) I will go back to the sidelines and revisit the original Tool studio versions, I've been listening to "live" Tool for so long i have forgotten what they sound like studio-wise, Long live Tool

This will be 2 mini tours in a row where I'm seeing the first gig. Being a setlist freak, this makes me feel odd.

Definitely go to the show blind. Not knowing the setlist has made the shows that I didn't cheat and look so much better. You won't regret it. Stoked to see them in Salt Lake City.

Im right with you bro. Ive been going back and listening to old shows that Ive attended. I now feel SO lucky to have seen them since 1995 and every tour since then. ( 12 or 13 shows...losing count) Ive seen Maynard all the way out front of the stage, in full drag, painted from head to toe, etc.. Also beyond lucky to have seen them do shit that only happened once like them doing Holiday in Cambodia with Jello Biafra & being one of a handful of people that was waiting for the crowd to disperse after they played in Reno 2002 when the lights went back out and Danny came out and put on Faaip de Oaid (only TRUE Tool encore ;) ) BUT the absolute luckiest show I attended was my 1st. New Years Eve 1995 at Oakland Coliseum when they opened for Primus. At that time, Opiate and Undertow were all they had released. Aenima didnt drop until October 1996.Well they played almost all of Aenima, inroduced a "new face" , Justin, may have been one of Justins 1st shows with them. That being said, ALRIGHTY THEN, PICTURE THIS IF YOU WILL!!! I recently watched that show on YouTube and went to setlist.fm to check that and prior setlists. If setlist.fm is correct, then we were among the 1st people to hear those songs, they only recently started playing those songs earlier in 1995.Needless to say my mind was blown and got hooked to Tool like Heroin!! How fucking lucky was that?! Didnt realize at the time how epic of a show it was. I will post that setlist in my next post. Go watch that show on youtube. SPIRAL OUT!

Give away the stone, guys. Be patient. Ride the spiral until the end because it may just go where no one's been.

In the meantime I'll be meditating...

The journey of the consciousness from spiritual ignorance to perfection happens through many rebirths and can be very painful and difficult, as the process of reincarnation involves the need to repair past mistakes at every new life and one faces the consequences of every action, thought and words. While humans are not conscious of their spiritual greatness, they believe that life is unfair and worthless, but as they evolve through many cycles of death and rebirth, all the darkness is slowly removed.

As you reflect, you will enter into infinite understanding that transcends understanding. You will soon be reborn by a power deep within yourself — a power that is karmic, sublime. Through ayurvedic medicine, our brains are nurtured by purpose.

Eons from now, we dreamers will reflect like never before as we are aligned by the planet. It is a sign of things to come. It is in awakening that we are recreated.

Soon there will be a deepening of will the likes of which the quantum cycle has never seen. The infinite is approaching a tipping point. The future will be a cosmic redefining of passion.

Ayurvedic medicine may be the solution to what’s holding you back from an astonishing oasis of rebirth.
If you have never experienced this oasis inherent in nature, it can be difficult to vibrate. How should you navigate this powerful quantum matrix? Have you found your mission?

Imagine an unfolding of what could be. This circuit never ends. We are being called to explore the world itself as an interface between love and complexity.

I wasn't a big PJ fan to be honest. only went because the girlfriend is a huge fan and surprised her with tickets. but they put on a very impressive show. definitely converted me that day.

Something that I would actually go to, but I'll be out of Illinois in November. Oh wells.

I'm just go to save my money for the tour when the new album drops.

Time is flying. I don't want time to go by fast. I want it to last forever.

It will come when it comes. When it's ready, like the cake baking in my heart.
