Thanks.
Yeah, it's not quite enough. Bills are piling up. So it goes.
It'd be nice to find something consistent. That would help.

Heeeyyyy. Somebody brought it to my attention that there might be a new “live streaming” section in the ToolArmy store. Is it finally time for me to get a TA membership?

For any Mitch Hedburg fans, I had a funny conversation with an old friend today...
Friend: I got a new job!
Me: alright man, where at?
Friend: delivery driver for FriTo-Lay!
(He seemed really excited about it, but I wasn’t so sure why)
Me: what’s so great about delivering potato chips?
Friend: They’re fucking light!

Just registered for this forum today after. How did I arrive here?
6 months ago I was diagnosed with cancer, and have since had a successful surgery to get rid of it. Since then however, I started experiencing some major anxiety. I am currently one of only 24 people in Canada who are legally allowed to carry and consume Psilocybin for therapeutic use, which has helped my anxiety greatly.
After a recent mushroom trip where I layed in bed and listened to a 4 hour TOOL playlist (Aenima forward) I feel like every other TOOL song I listen to relates directly to my experiences doing mushrooms.
I googled "TOOL lyrics mushrooms" and found this forum. Thanks for having me. I look forward to reading and participating in discussions.

What a journey. We’re a bit odd ‘round these parts, but good people. Toolnavy web is a little like Reddit. There might be a Tool/Mushroom or Tool/Medical thread. This one is SUPPOSED to relate to live shows, so it tends to pick up during a tour. We’re here for you! Have you seen Tool live up in the north?

"Those of us who work for the band wish we could share more news updates that fans would find truly exciting… because we are privy to such things, though are not at liberty to reveal them (Oh, how our fingers tremble above the keys). Not yet, anyway, but the time is coming… and it’s coming sooner than later… that much we can tell you. Until normality returns, and touring is permitted, these things (yes, plural) we hint of are sure to excite the Tool faithful… yes, very much so, we would think… so stay tuned, and we’ll let you know when we are able. We only hope that we haven’t already divulged too much."
Who knows, man. Who knows

Ah, okay. So TOOL can’t tour until Covid restrictions are relaxed. Thanks, yes, we know that.
On another note, just watched Lowell, ME 2002 show. It would be hard to beat that show or any other from the final leg of the 2002 tour. The lighting is dark and perfect. Setlist is second to none. D/ R/ T...
I went to several shows during that final leg of the Lateralus tour, but stopped after Richmond, VA. I was tired and broke, but I wished now that I carried on.
Good times.

I'm just a sliver optimistic about the TA post. The post coupled with Adam posting more pictures of him playing guitar, him in a hotel, him appearing to be in a studio has me thinking just slightly that it might be more than vinyl reissues or merch announcements. Giving myself a little room to be optimistic lol

Hey Folks!!
I'm definitely ready for this bullshit to be over (as we all are) maybe the band is finally ready to release the shows that were filmed in San Diego at the end of the Lateralus tour...

Yea, at this point who knows. Honestly, just kinda nice to see something tool related on TA and not Blair plugging some art performance or merch for Puscifer.

I don't know who worked on the Puscifer show, but there were probably at least a few shared Tool crew. I've been out of the Puscifer camp since the end of 2015, so I don't monitor it very closely anymore.

In case “Sooner rather then later” falls under the ‘Tool Live DVD and The Pot’ video, I suggest we have a “When I met that guy in TOOL” forum. I’ll go first.
I’ve met DC, Adam and Justin a few times, but I’ll begin with the first and most memorable.
April 29th 2006.
I arrived at LAX from NC in the afternoon. I met a guy from this board named Kima at Johnny Pastrami’s. Beers later we headed to the Loft after a stop at amoeba records. For those around in 2001/2002, Kima was friends with Tyson. Anyway...
I bought ISIS Celestial CD and proceeded to leave it in my rental car before heading home. Oh, “How did Kima know where the Loft is?” He was a PA with Tyson for Stinkfist and Aenima video shoots.
Okay, so Kima guides me to the Loft. It turns out to be in a relatively small square, concrete bunker-looking place off of the main Street. The only thing Identifying the place was Danny’s Porsche 911 with a “Kraftwerk” license plate parked out back.
So we parked and walked up to the entrance. “Guarding” the door was some dude on his cell who didn’t give a fuck. We said, “Here to see Danny.” And he nodded us in.
So we opened the door and walked in. I about shit myself. DC was sitting at a soundboard looking thing, and laughing. Some crazy-sounding Monk chanting was playing. We waited until it was over before saying anything. Kima reminded him of how he knows him, and DC seemed to play along that he remembered him.
Danny asked me who I was, and I told him that I just flew in from N C for the show tomorrow. He seemed honestly surprised and said, “That’s a long way to come for a show.” I nodded like an idiot.
Kima asked what he was playing when we walked in and DC’’s friend from Kansas City jumped in and said it was just to fuck with the mind’s of TOOL fans and they both laughed. They didn’t play it at Coachella that year.
Other notes: TOOL skate deck on the wall in the Loft.
Best day of my life.

Re: General Tool Discussion
Anyway...

Yea, at this point who knows. Honestly, just kinda nice to see something tool related on TA and not Blair plugging some art performance or merch for Puscifer.

Hey yo! I'm ok, definitely ready for this bullshit to ge over with!
How is everyone?
BTW
The Puscifer Money Shot stream was AWESOME!!
Probably my favorite thing that MJK has done outside of Tool.
Junior did you get to work on it? The lighting is excellent...

I though it was pretty decent, definitely don't regret checking it out! I thought the set design and lighting were spooky and really great, especially sets 1 and 3. It was good seeing MJK have fun, and Carina was pretty fun to watch. I liked the emphasis on Mat and Paul's instruments as well. That Simultaneous version was awesome!

I was really impressed with the sound and the mix, I wss fortunate to see and hear it on a high end system.
Made me miss seeing them live though. Those MS dates with the Luchdore ring were amazing.
That's my second favorite Puscifer album after COMP..
can you imagine if Tool did a similar project?

Danny seems to be doing fine. He's been playing gigs with the Doug Webb Group (1 in San Diego, 1 last Saturday at the Baked Potato, and a couple more later in June) and is playing tonight at the Baked Potato with the Jamie Kime Group.

I think once the full go-ahead for the industry happens, there will be an overload of tours trying to go out right away. The downside to that is that there are finite places to play and finite amounts of lighting, sound, trucks, busses, and personnel to do all of those tours.
There are organizations that have been meeting for months (in the US the Touring Professionals Alliance is one of them that was formed just for this reason) and trying to figure out a unified front of sorts for how to proceed safely and sanely once it becomes possible. Any small outbreak of covid on a tour would grind that tour to a halt, and there's too much at stake to risk that. Once a tour starts rolling it needs to keep rolling efficiently or a lot of money starts to get lost. So vaccines are going to be key, but there doesn't seem to be any way to require it at the moment. Even harder to control is the interaction with local crew/building staff. I think we'll be seeing states and cities that won't get on board with safety protocols start getting skipped over by tours that don't feel safe going there.
That said, I don't know when Tool will resume touring. It'll happen at some point, but I don't think they'll be among the very first to go out. Hopefully not much longer, though.
