i think that the red tape Salival is rarer than the DVD version. there is a red tape and a black tape, but only one DVD. so that could make the first run red tape the rarest version.
however, the DVD costs considerably more because it's much more in demand. 5.1 mix, Hush video....
Damn, i'm reading this part of the forum for the first time and had no idea the Salival box was so sought after. The CD and DVD are truly awesome and it would be a shame if Tool didn't re-release it, it's a must for everyone who appreciates tool.
P.S. And Fuck those e-bay vultures who sell stuff like this for 3x the retail price, i hope someone in their family dies soon.
had i known it was going to be so sought after i would have bought 3. one to keep, one to keep un-opened and the other to sell. Sad to say mine is in pretty sad shape, the plastic sleeve got sat on a couple of times, and my cd is scratched and skips on merkaba.

My husband thinks I'm crazy for buying two of things...so I'm glad to see someone shares this strange and expensive trait. :) I did buy two and one is unopened, but I just can't bring myself to sell either one...even if I saw one sold today for $110 on eBay.
I never thought they would be so sought after either...I wish I had bought three as well. Even the VHS versions were selling for $86 last time I checked.
