With Fire and Grace

It's when you call your fears to gather
and watch them shatter

You unleash the vision that has risen
to see the highest high eye to eye
and swept below the lowest low
carving trails into the light

walking by day, sailing by night

a feather dreams of being light as you can be
an eagle pleads to see the heights that you can reach

Re: With Fire and Grace

Interesting images gathered for me at the ‘sailing by night’ line. The night sea can bring out deep, unknown fears.

Welcome back Wolfman. Always nice to read you.

cool. I know it's cliche' to ryme but I feel like the last word in the last stanza should be "see" , but you want your work the way you want it , it's pretty good imo.

would you rather see the summit of Everest or reach it?

See Atlantis or reach it?

See your lover's face or reach it?

Great job, Wolfman. the 'highest high' and 'lowest low' part was my favorite due to the internal rhyming. fantastic

Ah but if a blind man reaches the summit , it's perhaps bittersweet.

Re: With Fire and Grace

Why? He's fucking blind and he did what few others can do. I'd call it a win

Re: With Fire and Grace

because he can't see the view , it's not something to argue about really.

Re: With Fire and Grace

I disagree. He knew when he started that he wouldn't be able to see the view. He'd just be happy that he did it. And if he was disappointed when he got there, then he obviously had unrealistic expectations, so fuck him.

Everything is something to argue about.

Re: With Fire and Grace

Thanks for reading my nature song, and for the entertaining argument.
