Yeah you're right they don't ship til later, May 30th and it says so plain as day on the ticket information on the web site. To answer the other person's question about what to expect with Bonnaroo there is one word to sum up them all: TRAFFIC! If you've never been to a big festival this is the number one worst thing. The first year we sat in traffic for seriously like 12 hours. The second and third year things were much improved. After that, remember to bring your sunscreen, plenty of water, a cooler, tent, patience, a good attitude, and respect for the hippies that tread around with their nasty dreads and smelly pits. This is mostly their festival so remember if you're going for hard rock well you'll have three days to kill. Myself I'm not a big fan of the whole hippie scene but they are all so very nice and quick to share, especially with the headies. There will port-a-potties that are generally well kept and also water stations (all of this will be indicated on the map you will received when you enter the farm.) If it rains, you will get wet. If it's blazing hot, you will get sunburned. But if you come to have a good time then none of it will matter. What happens at the 'Roo stays at the 'Roo, and by that I mean that it's not a good idea to take any of the 'souvenirs' you procure with you when you leave. There will be many of Tennessee's finest waiting to pull you over and search your car if they know you are leaving there. Feel free to let me know if you need to know anything else.

Cheers!

Re: 2007/06/1X - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival

<sigh> After seeing the first tier of priced tickets sell out, I let my cheap side get the best of me and had to purchase the second tier...So I guess I'll be making the trek to TN with or without Tool...Hopefully all the reports that they are still playing hold true and they don't back out last second...Besides Tool, there are only a few other bands I wanna check out

Brightwell your a lucky bastard.....please stop making me feel so much pain....Bonnaroo will more than likely escape me this year, if I do catch it it will certainly not be VIP...<sigh> .... but I'll still get to see The Police at Fenway Park.....

Take lots of supplies, get a good camping checklist and use it, bring lots and lots of beverages, water, spray bottles to keep yourself cool and sunblock.

Heh. Its hot and hotter, be prepared and bring everything you need or plenty of cash.

So last year Radiohead played over 2 hours? Is that correct? If so, I wonder if TOOL will do the same?

Re: 2007/06/1X - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival

Atm machine lines are insane usually. I usually take as much in cash as I can and I store it safely.

Its a very friendly fest but there are bad seeds anywhere there are 90,000 people. Keep the shit you care about safe inside your locked car. Also keep a spare set of car keys stashed somewhere safe outside the vehicle. Locking your keys in your car while you're on the way to see the headliner would suck and you're in and out of your car a lot.

Re: 2007/06/1X - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival

Has anyone else read the profile for Tool on the Bonnaroo site?

http://www.bonnaroo.com/tool

Parts are funny/interesting.

Does anyone have any idea what this quote means under Maynard's section:
"In another direction is a calendar of crossed out squares with A Perfect Circle scribed on May 23rd and "NIN tour" written under April 12th."

OH MY GOD, TOOL AND NIN ARE TOURING!!!@##!@#@!#

Okay, just kidding.

This "bio" is actually 6 or 7 years old. The "NIN tour" is when APC opened for them back in the day. So...you're welcome.

I have a question which I believe to be a good one. Does anyone know when they release the schedule for the festival? Here is what I am looking for:

Ordered my tickets a couple of days ago; and I can't wait for the actual show. Does anyone think that they might perform, hopefully, some new songs for this concert that they have not previously preformed on this tour; and if so, what would youo like to hear?

Re: 2007/06/1X - Manchester, TN - Bonnaroo Festival

I think they'll play a longer than normal set, but no songs that haven't been played on these tours...I'm expecting something along the lines of:

Stinkfist
The Pot
Forty Six & 2
Jambi
Schism
Lost Keys/ Rosetta Stoned
Swamp Song
Right In Two
Sober
Opiate
Lateralus
Vicarious
Aenema

I don't think Wings/ 10 K Days will be played being that they haven't played it in any festival show yet...I do hope I'm wrong with the above setlist cause I would LOVE to see songs like The Grudge, Eulogy, Parabol/Parabola, Pushit, and of course Third Eye

If they play Rosetta Stoned at Bonnaroo... hippies will die. Every hippie is on acid at festivals and they all hate dark music

Honestly I couldnt disagree more. I was at Bonnaroo last year and those hippies were rocking out to every kind of music there. I dont think it will be any different this year and I honestly think Tool will play whatever the hell they want to.

There is a Grateful Dead song named "He's Gone," and part of the lyrics go, "Steal your face right off your head." That's what will be happening when TOOL is onstage. In a good way.

i read on the bonnaroo website that you are not susposed to bring more than 3 cases of beer per person and no more than 1.75L of liquor per person. I also read that they will be searching cars due to heighted security concerns. To those who have been in the past, will they really care if you bring say 4 cases?

They don't search every car. They also dont search very well.

They are mostly concerned with people bringing large amounts of alchohol or drugs to sell - thats why they set those general restrictions... bring the extra case if you want to, just dont pack it on top of your car... or something..

Yea they are not very particular it shouldnt be a problem, they honestly dont have time to search the entire car. But make sure to bring canned bear and not bottles.

Now I am going to have to disagree with that

When Primus played (what was it 2-3 summers ago) I saw a bunch of hippies really fucking bummed out. The hippies checking them out started walking away with distraught looks on their faces when they started (Defy the Laws of Tradition - the first song) and I left 2/3 of the way through their show from being tired and I saw super bummed out hippies everywhere!. So some hippies will rock out and a lot will be really afraid/depressed/angry when Tool plays. I mean Primus is fun and dark and scary. Tool is dark and serious and scary and dark with minimal humor compared to Primus

Well when Tool is playing its the main even and that means all the hippies are going to be tripping because at night time 95% of them are. I think this tends to help them have a good time. Plus if Trey Astatio from Phish likes Tool I dont see why all the other hippies are going to hate them when hes a bigger hippie then all of them.

I am going to have to disagree with that. Hippies enjoy tripping and listening to chill happy music with a "good groove". Trey like Tool but he has a broad taste of music, I mean he thinks Dav Mathews is great too. He is not really a hippie. The fans are but Phish were music nerds. I mean he swears a lot, writes songs poking fun at hippies and even his own fans, wheres nerdy clothing, has short undreaded hair... doesn't really seem like a hippie. Take a look at Phish-hook or Phantasy tour message boards, a lot of Phish-heads and general jamband are really pissed that Tool is coming to Bonnaroo, a festival that once had more bands like String Cheese, Widespread Panic and the Dead for headliners. One quote from one of these message boards went something like,

"Danny Carey injured himself... THANK GOD"

and there are a lot of open minded hippies but fuck!!!, if Primus bummed em' out Tool sure as hell will. But just because a lot of hippies preach open-mindedness doesn't mean they are open-minded themselves. I've been to 2 bonnaroos and I observed many of bro'd up dready hippies do dumb shit and say dumb shit.

Friday was already shaping up to be a pretty awesome lineup and this puts the cherry on top...DJ Shadow, Rx Bandits, Brazilian Girls, Tortoise, and now Tool...If Gogol Bordello plays on Friday, this would be far and away my favorite day in Bonnaroo
