There's a guy on youtube by the username SpokenVerse that does poetry readings almost every day, and I really like the different dimensions he gives to some of them, as I myself would maybe have read a certain passage a different way, or have placed emphasis on a certain word he simply read by.
My hope is that people will join in and do a reading, or a hundred of them. It doesn't have to be an original, though it is more interesting that way.
I recorded this using my cellphone's understandably crappy voice recorder, and was outside at the time. Some of the awkward pauses are because I was remembering the lines as I went along. I began walking as well, so my voice goes in and out at some parts. I was going to do another take, but it's late and the walls are as thin as paper.
hey Jayar,
it'd be helpful if you posted the words to it so we could read along. makes it a bit easier to follow
a potentially cool idea: hear the voices behind these written words
My point was to eliminate the reader's need to read in the place of listening. For me, it's like having English subtitles in an already English movie, you know? Of course, you guys are free to add the actual text to your audio links if you like, but I'm going to stick with just the clips.

the fact that this thread exists is the newest, very welcome and nifty coincidence in the long string of coincidences that make up my life.
i was seriously just thinking about this last week for the first time in my life.
thanks, Jayar.
Absorbing audible verses? I really liked the imagery from your piece, I'll have to comprise something lyrical and retort this creative concept...*kudos*

Well, since you people are still busy clearing your throats, I'll do another one. This is by *E.E Cummings, which is called 'Somewhere I have never traveled'. My shady accent changes at least 12 times, I don't think a second try would have yielded any better results. Just having fun :)
