After the energy of "The Grudge" comes to an abrupt halt, this is an excellent way to fill the newfound silence. It seems to come out of the depths of some deep abyss, as if Adam had been plucking that line for an eternity before someone decided to turn up the volume and listen. It really showcases Adam's musical skill, as he can draw up more than a little bit of emotion with this little interlude that lasts barely a minute. A fine musical tribute (if only to a dog), and the best possible way to open up "The Patient."
