Rosetta Stoned
Flood
----------------------
Wings 1
10,000 Days
Disposition
Reflection
Triad
-------------------
ENCORE:
Ænema
Lateralus (Drum Solo EXT.)
it is so doable and it is close to what a normal set would be with the exception of some other songs and it runs up at about 2 hours and 10 minutes i mean why couldnt it happen.

I am sorry, but the show Tool puts on these days isnt good enough for a band of such quality - if maynard's voice is fucked, then dont put on a half-arsed show, rest, get it better, have some treatment then come back.
The setlists have become boring and predictable, there is no ability to travel around and watch them multiple times, cos they always put on the same show.
If I was to write the set list, it would last 2 hours, 15mins, and would include
Flood
Stinkfist
Eulogy
Parabol/a
No Quarter
Wings for Marie 1/2
The Pot
Jerk Off
Third Eye
Right in Two
Vicarious
Aemima
Pushit (Salival)
Lateralus
I would wanna squeeze in 4 degrees or crawl away but have tried to limit it to 135mins
Lateralus is by far the best song to close a set with.
Pushit and 3rd Eye for epic, Jerk Off and No Quarter for rare awesomeness, and the others my favuorites off those albums
16 songs, average of 8mins 30secs
Sounds achievable to me

Eon Blue Apocalypse
The Patient
Ænema
Parabol/a
Intension
Right In Two
Opiate

Nice going people. Since when can't people have a different opinion?
I really really really really dislike Third Eye. So what! Should I call everyone who dislikes Jambi or Rosetta Stoned (two of my favourite Tool songs) an idiot as well? That would be entertaining and very fun to this forum.
No Quarter is a great cover, don't get me wrong, I'm just not eager to see it in concert.
Ænema is an excellent closer, their best in my opinion, again an opinion, so what.
Uneducated? lolz, go fish. Please.
Good list duncang.
mate, you were the one that made comments about other people's sets, referring to certain song choice.
the pot calling the kettle black.
if one cant defend their choice then whats the point
OK, of course I;d love a major setlist change, but just doing a little rearranging would be good too, observe:
Jambi
Stinkfist
46&2 (or any other song)
Schism
Lost Keys
Rosetta Stoned
(Vicarious Jam)
Vicarious
Wings
Lateralus
Ænema-or-Opiate-or-Flood
I think Lateralus is the best closer but it also is the best song to follow Wings so I'd settle for Ænema.
have Ænema as the close and play flood before it and play opiate after schism or something thats how they should do it

I'd have to agree with WIX and say "hello no". Fuck it... I'll go a bit farther and say I question your knowledge of the band. Do you know any of the other songs from the band? It's cool if you don't, but please don't waste peoples time. Do you need the names of the other records released by the band? If you do please let someone know. not me.

I dunno if about an all 10,000 Days set, they would have to play other songs with it as well, kinda like Primus does, they would play an entire cd live then some other songs, but i do agree that Lateralus is the best closer IMO
Jerk-Off
The Grudge
Pushit
Parabol/Parabola
Bottoms
Wings/10k
Reflection
Eulogy
-----------Maynard does about 15min. of stand up comedy------------------
Jambi
Lateralus
Third Eye
Come on...is this not a perfect setlist?? It's pretty much evenly balanced and has a little something for everyone who attends the show.
P.s. I nut at the thought of hearing third eye end this setlist...ooooya
Jambi
Stinkfist ext.
H
The Pot
Schism ext.
Lost Keys / Rosseta Stoned
Right in Two
----------------------
Wings for Marie
10,000 Days
Vicarious

That might be one too many songs but thats the one !! If I absolutely HAD TO drop one it would be vicarious.
Ok now the one that will never happen, my ideal setlist
Hooker with a penis
Jambi
The Grudge
Stinkfist ext
H
Parabol / Parabola
4 degrees
------------------------
Eulogy
Jimmy
Eon Blue Apocalypse / The Patient
Right in two
Lateralus ext

Ok ok ok.....damn good setlist BUT...i would probably have to switch out Jimmy and The Patient with something else. Not to knock on those songs cause both of them are amazing, but i've heard The Patient live 4 times, and it doesn't make a good live song. As for Jimmy.....i dunno, but i'd still switch it out. I'd sub Jimmy with Undertow and The Patient with.............................................. ........probably Intension that way it could led into Right in Two just like on the album.
I like the Intension idea. As for the patient, I have never seen it live, but I have seen a live bootleg DVD of them performing it at Radio City Music Hall in NY on August 14, 2002 and the Eon blue Apocalypse intro and just watching the band I really would like to see it live.
My favorite part of the setlist is hooker with a penis. Looking at old setlists, they opened with it for a while and I absolutely love that song even though its a more simple tool song it has lots of energy great opener!!
You're right. Having them open with Hooker would just leave ppl blasted to their seats.
Ever since buying the live Primus dvd and watching them perform an entire album live I wish Tool would do that. Perhaps they could play Lateralus or Aenima in its entirety along with maybe 3 or 4 songs from the other albums. It's a stretch, but prayers do come true like in those movies i love to watch....
p.s. i'm going to get to see them on 11/16 AND 11/17 when they come to Houston then goto New Orleans. Hopefully they'll have a few suprises in this upcoming setlist.

Sounds like a great idea ( playing the entire album ), I will also be at the Houston show!!! Well I will be there unless they release a date for Oklahoma, then I will obviously just go to that show, but I have no problem making the drive to Houston if they dont come back here (Oklahoma). I also hope they shake the setlist up a little (fingers crossed)!! I will NOT be looking at setlists from the other shows on here before the show I go to just to add a little excitement to the whole thing!!!

i think i'd rather hear a little of everything than just one cd. well, if i could make it to more than one show, with them playing different cds each time, i think that would be perfect! maybe i'll send the guys an e-mail and see if they can set that up for me! hah
geez, as much as i'd like to stay away from peeking at setlists, i don't think i'll be able to stop myself... i'm far too excited! i just want to hear flood... if they play that, i will be happy.
but my ultimate set list would be as follows....
The Grudge
Flood
Opiate
Prison Sex
Ticks and Leeches
Disposition/Reflection/Triad
Eon Blue Apocolypse/The Patient
Pushit
Eulogy
Lateralus
Intension/Right in Two
Wings for Marie/10,000 Days
and for the finale.... ta da...Third Eye
That, my friends, would be the longest/greatest concert ever. I would shit my pants if I even dreamed about this concert.
Anyways, I'm definitely getting some kickass seats for the Austin show and maybe, just maybe, I can get my parents to spring for the Houston show as well. Early christmas present right?

They should at least switch up the versions between the nights, like when they used to play the short Stinkfist with White Lines one night and extended with regular lyrics the next. That was pretty cool.

man i bet with all this time off between the europe tour and this upcomeing US tour, they have had time switch up the videos and the set list so that maybe, just maybe we can get a tour of some classic tool shit, i've pretty much heard the entire 10k days album live, and i'm ready to hear some other shit
- Saw the first (the comparatively shitty) leg of the Lateralus tour and the first (absolutely fabulous) and second (excellent) legs of the 10,000 Days tour -
Third Eye
Jambi
Eulogy
The Pot
Schism (extended)
4 Degrees
Parabol/a (extended drum solo at end)
Lost Keys/Rosetta Stoned
Wings*
-- Break --
Vicarious
Pushit (Salival version)
Lateralus

*Though I wonder if they'll ever play this again after this tour considering how directly personal it is, but who knows.

I'd have to think it'll be played again. Maybe not as much as the past few legs of the tour but I'm sure it's not buried yet. Remember, a lot of the places that they will be going on this final US leg haven't gotten "Wings" yet.

I don't see why everyone is excited for Intension. IMO it's not that spectacular of a jam. I mean, it's OK, but there are so many better options that could take up 7 minutes of time. Ticks and Leeches? 'nuf said.
