Doesn't change the fact that Ænima is still my favorite album ever by anyone.
Correction: It is the best album ever by anyone.

Thank you. We need more people like you around here. I personally hate pickles, but I love both Ænima and Salival.
Fucking A Right, cotton!!
Someday, when the assholes have pinched their last nugget, everything the light touches will be my kingdom.
I just have to cut back on the posts per day, stay healthy, eat my wheaties and stop telling people to go kill themselves.
P.S. Alex in Chains might have a point, except, umm, i found this CD under my couch, a friend left it there, it's called Lateral.... Lateralus. I think it's pretty good. It's from a band called Tool, you might like it.

Lateralus has drifted down my list over the past six years. At first, I thought it might be better than Ænima, but it quickly became my second favorite. With the new record (my new second favorite), I've really analyzed how often I go back and listen to each record, evaluated the individual songs a little, and decided that Undertow ranks above Lateralus for me, too. I think if I had to pinpoint what keeps Lateralus at number four, it would come down to two things: the beginning and the end. While I love the "super song," I've always felt they could end the album better (the title track is probably their best bet). And "The Grudge" is just not a very good song, at least not for Tool.
Of course, "Least Favorite Tool LP" is kind of like "Worst Orgasm I Ever Had."

You make a big boy cry Alex. Seriously. The Grudge is awesome.
Maybe you'll see the light when "Saturn Ascends."
If the Grudge doesn't seem toolish, but then why... or should I say in a sense (I'm trying to derive this from your perspective), how does Rosetta stoned fit? That doesn't seem toolish either in that sense. And neither does the pot (but we won't talk about the pot).
I love both the Ænima and the Salival version of Pushit, but I'm still gonna have to go with the Salival version.
The Salival version reminds me of the later to come Right In Two. The way that they transition into a percussion bridge, then go into the more ænimaish part of the song is like WOAH! Also, the first time I heard it I was in a bad emotional state, and so the song sentimentally stuck to me more than the one on ænima did.

you know i really think it depends on what you 'want' to hear so depending on the mood u want either one will have their own time that it is better than the other

I agree. But in response to what started this topic, I'd have to say that i prefer the Ænima "D'amour Demo" the most, not because of Paul's bass (although it does add a little more intensity to it, in this case), but because of the raw power of the lyrics, they sound almost bitter, but have that pure confidence kinda preacher sound to Maynard's voice that was all we got back in the day, and i'd have to say in this situation it works better than most, in my opinion at least. I do however like to give a listen to Salival's every now and then because of the beautific drums/tabla of Danny/Aloke being in almost perfect balance with the melodies and harmonies of the song... it's almost to perfect for a live performance sometimes... but that's what makes Tool so unique.
hmm..tough decision. they are both excellent versions and different. Aenima one is more raw and intense. Salival one makes u wanna turn off the lights, lay in bed and suck on a joint.

the beginning of the aenima version is godly when the drums come in.....its soo profound and powerful, but the salival version is sooo heavenly....its tool they are fucking awesome, if they come out with another version of the song it would be amazing also
