Damnit... figures right? We've been getting mid 80s and even into the 90s with high humidity down here. I was really looking forward to a nice comfy weekend outside in Indio.
Don't forget to stock up on sunscreen or I doubt you'll make it to Sunday night.
OK, it appears that 2-day passes are now sold out as well. Hopefully any of us who wanted to go to Coachella have taken care of business now. Unless you wanted to go on Saturday and not see Tool.
This is the official Coachella message board:

There is an area there specifically for Tickets. You might find someone there selling them. I would hurry. Once people start finding out Sunday's sold out, they'll probably jack up their prices.

OMFG people, you people had 2 months to get hooked up with tickets, agh is right!!! But seriously, sorry now you are in this situation.
Also cant really say its Madonna because even after she signed month and a half passed and no sell out. Id say its more with Tool, all the hype generated about the 1 second sell outs to these club shows and the chaos in NY last saturday. I think it led to this "MY God here is my chance to see Tool without paying $1000".
As an aside, I know that there will be this web cast thing they are doing. Does anyone know if this means the Tool set will be on this web cast, and will it be available for download/viewing after the show, etc?

I would seriously seriously doubt it. When they played in New Orleans in 2001 on VoodooFest, THAT festival was videotaped and later broadcast on some digital cable channel... everything but TOOL's set, that is. We all know how much control they like to have (well... how much they DO have) over their music, videos, artwork, performances, etc... When's the last time you saw any live TOOL video footage that was official? Basically never. I don't expect that to change.
well i just wound up in a pickle. someone i thought was handling my tix situation blew it.
so now -i- need to find two for sunday. agh.
DAMN. this is crappy. not that it isn't bad that others might have missed out too but, come on people, this is kabir.
i'll ask around.
EDIT: I looked very briefly on craigslist and noticed some face value tickets. I actually saw more promising leads when I looked under SF Bay area (where I'm at) than when I switched it over to L.A.

I have been searching craigs list all day and have a WTB post as well....
i ran into the same situation as kabir.....i put the responsibility in someone elses hands and they lagged....I am currently in Santa Barbara, but will be back in OC on friday night. If anyone wants to kick down 1 (one) ticket, let me know. as far as im concerned, my friends are on their own to find their tickets.

Coachella Time Set
I don't know if this has been posted yet, but Tool's time has been set for Coachella on Sunday from 10:45 - midnight on the Coachella Stage.... thought all of you would like to know :)
I can't wait to watch it stream on AT&T Blue Room....... i really hope they don't turn the cameras off (crosses fingers)
I hope they turn the cameras off specifically for TOOL.

Alright, so REALISTICALLY... what songs from 10k Days do you think they'll play at this show? I think it was Danny who said somewhere that they would play some new material at Coachella. I remember hearing it from a relatively official source.
I think Vicarious is almost a guarantee. It's the single.
My guess is they might play two others. They will probably do The Pot as well, and maybe Right in Two. If not Right in Two then probably Jambi.
As much as I would love it, I somehow doubt they will take 17 minutes out of their hour and 15 min. set to play Wings/10k Days.
ok so here's the deal with coachella tickets if you haven't figured it out.
in 2004 when it sold out (with radiohead and co) there were still selling many tickets at the door. it is **VERY** likely that there will be tickets available at the box office on the day of each show, but they cannot guarantee it so they won't tell you. at coachella there are always plenty of people selling tickets, not all of them for outlandish prices. take the dive, risk it, make a sign, show up at the box office before it opens (9am on each day).. so get there like at 8am and line up... if for some crazy reason they have no tickets hold up ur sign and walk around and you are more than likely to grab some tickets.
hope this helped if anyone had any questions about this.
I'm thinking along similar lines. perhaps:
Vicarious/The Pot/Right in Two (most likely)
Vicarious/The Pot/Jambi
Vicarious/The Pot/Rosetta Stoned (would be very cool)
maybe Vicarious/The Pot/10,000 Days (wings pt. 2)
they could save time by not doing Wings for Marie (pt. 1)
"I was sitting at the counter in Chili John’s the other day, attempting to finish a basket of oyster crackers with a bowl of spicy/chicken/beans while talking with Danny about what, if any, new songs Tool might play at Coachella when my cell phone started vibrating. It was Kevin Willis calling from San Diego where he was working with Adam on the new video, although it wasn’t the Vicarious video that he was calling about, but, rather, to let me know that two older videos, “Schism” and “Parabol(a)” were being screened as part of the fabulous Silverlake Film Festival in the Arclight Cinema Lounge (Hollywood). Normally, I’d just post this tidbit of info without first checking it out for myself, but in that the Arclight just so happened to be the Siljamonster’s (and a thousand and one other film dorks) glittering turf, here was a rare chance to observe her in the wilds – you know, to be asked if I’ve seen “Un Chien Andalou” and every other artsy film shot in the last 10,000 days.
A couple of hours later I picked up the Icelandic creature and we headed to the dome (her word). Once there, as film dorks swarmed about tables of glossy pamphlets, we tried to locate exactly where the Tool videos were playing. An event coordinator informed us that they had screened them the night before in the theater, but that she didn’t know where they’d be shown on this evening. So you’d think that would be it – we’d get a couple of pricy microbrews in the lounge and then go have some drinks on the boulevard. No such luck. Since we were already at the Arclight, the Siljamon suggested that we view an indie documentary entitled “Rural Rock & Roll” about the little known music scene in Humboldt County. So we purchased tickets and took our assigned seats (yep, that’s how the film dorks like it) in order to check out just what kind of creative talent is packing them in at house parties in places like Eureka and Arcata, California.
While watching these struggling musicians and short order cooks in action, the first thing that became quite obvious, at least to both of us, is that there didn’t seem to be ANY imported beers six hours north of San Francisco and, if it weren’t for the pot, most of these bands would never have formed in the first place, only to break up an ounce of Purple Wheelchair or two later (we did, however, think that a band called “The Hitch” was pretty good, having some PLC-sounding tunes… although, these guys, too, seemed unable to find any imported beer that far north). Anyway, after the documentary, a couple of shorts, Peruvian food (not the title of an artsy film – yet!), Lon Chaney’s “Phantom of the Opera” (with a soundtrack by Switchblade Symphony) and “Sunset Boulevard”, we went again in search of the Tool videos. Although we were still unable to find the room/party where they were being screened on that particular night, from what I understand, they are supposed to be shown again tonight and tomorrow (March 30, 31) as part of the fabulous Silverlake Film Festival. Anyone interested will have to find them on their own. We’re heading to Arcata to see “The Eureka Garbage Company”, “Monster Women”, and “The Hitch” all on the same bill (if they’re still together by the time we get there). And we’re definitely bringing our own twelve packs of Corona with us. As for what Danny and I were discussing at Chili John’s, once distracted by Kevin’s call, I never did find out what new songs Tool would be playing at Coachella (OR if Danny even knew at this point in time), only that they’d most likely be playing some of the new material."
There you have it... Vicarious, 10,000 Days, The Pot.
