I travelled to Belgium to see them. And several other US cities/states outside of my own during the tour as well. What would you like to know? It's expensive- I can tell ya that much! Well, at least doing it they way I did it felt expensive- but then I am kind of a cheap-skate!
If anyone is coming out state to LA, there are a couple of good hotels downtown. The Marriot is nice. I have stayed there before. You should be able to find it at Hotels.com and it is reasonably priced.

It would definitely be cheaper to just fly, plus less time off work.

Sure I want them to do Intension as it is on the album. But you should know by now, the are probably going to do the following instead
Jambi
Stinkfist ( extended )
46&2
Schism ( extended )
Rosetta Stoned
Flood ( with intro )
Lateralus ( with Danny's solo )
Vicarious
Having been a professional musician for a while, I know how hard it is to get random tunes inserted into a tour set. But Tool has easily inserted songs like Pushit and Swamp Song into their set this tour.
Honestly, this is Maynard's fault for not changing things up. I will listen to whatever they have to play, and I love 10,000 Days. So if that's all they play, then I am happy. But not playing Intension is the one thing that defies all logic. For whatever reason Maynard has decided not to sing that certain song and it really bugs me.
Yeah, it's really unprecedented for Tool to not air out all of the songs from the new album on that album's tour. They even played "Lipan Conjuring" once on the warm-up tour for fuck's sake. I'll bet they do it at one of the LA shows...

Blah! Thus far no shows in my neck of the woods...and there probably won't be. :(

Actually thinking about road tripping from Oklahoma. I will be on X-Mas break and thought it would be really fun to drive out to LA for the show. My dad lives out there so I will end up staying for a couple of weeks, but I really want to stop in Vegas on the way out and possibly Maynards winery.

Yeah, I second that. Even if they did I doubt that we'd get anything particularly interesting. I'd still like to see them one last time before they go into their half-decade hibernation, though.

I don't know for sure, but I would imagine it is since it is now required to have a passport just to get into Mexico.

Amen to that. The idea of waiting for years to see them again sucks, however, I better get used to it since I think we are done for in regards to anymore shows this tour.

I say go for it. I drove from MA to here in Jan, took a bit of a circuitous route to stop @ VA (drove 12 hours straight, not recommended) then hugging the southern states to avoid freezing my ass off.
Hope they add Vegas for early Nov, then I'll make it back for the Houston show, W00t!

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
the latest update from blair on toolarmy says there are no presales as it is a "brief" tour being put together on the fly...so i'm guessing it may not reach the east coast?
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I really hope the dates are changed for just a week later...Semester will be over and I'd definitely make the trip over to Cali for a show and a Raider game...Make a mini vacation out of it
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
I am starting to wonder if this is it. No pre-sale at Toolarmy for this 'mini-tour' of the states? Sounds like they could be wrapping things up. The tour has been going on for a while. I would not be surprised to see it come to a close. I've loved every minute either way.

Tickets go on sale tomorrow for the Houston show but I don't see anything for it on Ticketmaster. Does anyone now if they might not be selling them through Ticketmaster?

I hope so. Well I really hope there is a Boise show over an SLC show cuz I drove down to SLC in June to see Deftones, so I would be very happy to only drive 10 minutes to get to a show instead of a few hours. Boise isnt too far from SLC.... :)
Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
here, http://www.toolshed.it/ ... if you skip the intro and then click in the eye of the snake, you can find a good quality bootleg of their show in Bologna, Italy, Sept 2nd
And also a couple of good videos (Vicarious, Swamp Song).

Re: General Tool tour questions / discussion (merged)
So, I've been checking out some of the shows that cu.org has and I've noticed a lot of instances of Maynard saying things like, "see you real soon" at shows on the last part of the US tour. The frequency at which he says it seems to suggest that maybe this leg will be a little more than just the western part of the US. Or maybe he was just being a dick. I guess it's very possible either way.
