A friend of mine said once that Keenan reminded him of Mahler....
Mahler was a 19th century composer who (among other works, of course) set to music 6 poems in a collection he called "Kindertotenlieder" ("Songs on the Death of Children"). As the story goes, while he was working on the pieces, his wife had an eerie premonition and felt strongly that Mahler should discontinue his work. He finished the pieces. And then his daughter died.
I hope Keenan's not superstitious....
(Another interesting story: Mahler was superstitious about writing a 10th symphony because other composers, including Beethoven and Haydn, died before completing their 10th symphonies. Mahler wrote a symphony after his 9th which he did not title Symphony No. 10. He completed that piece, then died after starting Symphony No. 10.)

'the devil and his hand me downs'
that phrase is used to mean satan and his workers [fallen angels and/or humans who choose his ways]
but perhaps because I know of it, I ascribe it to the lyrics when it isnt there, can anyone convince me otherwise?

Consciousness is all there is in life. An infinite amount of conscious atoms manifested as random objects. Your brain is the center of the universe. We are all one in consciousness. Your looking basically at yourself when you speak to another because you are both consciousness making decisions. In other words your in the same boat with life. Everything in life is a random object given a name to make it seem familiar. Your either a positive person or a negative person. Devour to survive or try and make it work for your race. The point where my life started to change forever is when i realized and asked myself what the hell is going on? What is this life thing I've been thrown into? And realizing that it all stems from your mind and life litterally revolves around you is just awesome. the power of the mind is amazing. Life is yours and every decision in it. even after death you'll still be conscious and making decisions.. So do what you want at all times because all there is, is you, everything else is just a product of your mind. Much love Bananaz,, p.s im guessing rule number 7 is tell the truth at all times..

Legion makes perfect sense.
I personally wouldn't be surprised if it's a comment about Tool fans, by and large. Wanting Maynard to keep his "edge". But the term legion could encompass much more than just fans. I see it as any number of people and influences that would have had Maynard stay the angry, volatile Maynard that came through in Opiate and Undertow. That could be the fans, but it could just as well be short-sighted, money-grubbing label associates, it could be his peers.
I'm not sure how closely you have followed 'nard's blog on puscifer, but i think this post was in the same vein of what Jambi is about.
