If I were in a band as soon as I had the means, the first thing I would do would be tour Australia. Not only because I love the place, but also because they are incredibly supportive rock and roll fans. I can't believe Rush has never been there. (Never? )

Most often excuse I see touted is that their stage show it too large, and fan base in Oz too small. I'm not sure if that's the case, but I think most Rush fans would rather a cut down show from a visual perspective than no shows ever.
But anyway, I'm not a big enough Rush fan I'll lose sleep over it, but I'd certainly check them out given the chance.

A (semi) quick check and it looks like they have never been down there. Hell if Iron Maiden can schlep their show all over the world, Rush can. If they were that worried about they could do a festival tour and use the house set up. Seems odd.
I'm thinking they must be using record sales as a barometer.

I think it'd be getting far too late for festival contracts to be signed at his point in time, so any added shows will most likely be at the usual sized venues they play at.
