Musically it is very cool, but the vocals don't really cut it for me. They don't seem to meld very well with the song, the exception being the last line of course.
Best parts of this song?
It's a tie: the huge buildup and the "Cleanse and purge me in the water!" part.
Between those two parts though, it's not very satisfying.

This is a great song...in context. It clearly shows where their next album (Aenima) is going to go, while still embracing the one-of-a-kind rough Undertow sound.
I really like this song, though, so I could be biased.

This song is my favorite song live that I have ever heard Tool perform. I have yet to hear 5 of their songs as of right now, but I still think the build up in this song makes it the incredible live song that it is.
The best was when they used to end shows with Flood and lead directly into Opiate. Best. concert. ending. ever.
I am new to Tool - I know - I suck!!! And I am only just coming to grips with this song. But I love it. Such a great transition song between 4 degrees and disgustipated.
What does this song mean? Is it about constantly coming to grips with new realities? Or being drowned in the crap that is the world? Or just growing up? Some reference to baptism?
