Float above the ground, eight feet;
not enough gravity to contain your joy.
I can see it, failing to slam you to the concrete,
there is something that keeps you high,
takes you beyond the cold, bare earth.
And I wish I could steal you back,
snatching you from your suspended hold
while you dream; your eyes are among the stars.
your heart is here with me, beating, pounding
Right through my own hands.
Sky turns to darkness, stars twinkling wondrously,
and yet not one can compare to your gaze,
as it pierces heart and soul, melting unlit candles.
Restarting deadened hearts, providing freedom,
those dark pools give me solace, and I sink deep,
lamenting that I cannot have all of you here,
on the ground, as I stare at your body,
merely a few feet away, suspended by will.
The heart continues to call to me, but I cannot reach you,
as that I myself am held by an unknown will,
Bound to the ground by chains, I can only pray,
That you will return to me eventually,
Someday.

Kruppo, you yet again amaze me with your literary genius.
You lost someone special, didn't you?
Not exactly. It's more of a lament for the lack of someone special in my life...but either way you look at it, the despair and longing are still there. It's something that's been hovernig over me for the past two years of my life.

this line just really seemed to stand out in a not so good way...just kind bland for my tastes. Also, i know it is the title of the piece, but the use of 'someday' at the end just left me with cliche feeling at the end that i don't think the rest of this piece deserves. Besides that, this piece was gold.

*hugs*
