I'm going to the Sunday show and desperately trying to find a ticket to Saturday as well! Yes, it's true, Danny's birthday is on the 10th (Saturday) and I'm willing to bet he will be one of the special guests.
Although i am not making it to this show, I wonder about the bands set lengths. If I am correct, the Greek Theater has an 11pm curfew. So if the show starts at 8, that give 3 hours for three bands. Is Failure gonna just play 30 mins? Also APC must only get about 30 mins at the most. Unless it will be set up that there is no set change between APC and Puscifer, just people come in and out like how Puscifer did with their shows in 2009. Anyway I'm sure there are a lot of surprises in store for this show. Sounds fun, wish I got tix before it sold out. Maybe they'll release more closer to date. six hour drive is kinda long but doable.
obviously this is just pure speculation on my part, but I imagine that there will be no "transition" from APC to Puscifer with a proper set break/lights coming back on/equipment change.
I'd imagine it will be exactly as you described from earlier Puscifer tours with people coming and going and a random mix of songs from both bands.
the unknown factor and having zero expectations is what makes this show sound like it will be a great experience for everyone. obviously being a huge puscifer fan helps as well :)

Failure gets 20 mins
20 min set change
APC gets 50 mins (festival set)
Puscifer and guests get 60 mins
I think that adds up to 10:30 right?
They may get an exception for a Sat night.(?)
Maybe better to do one day at Hollywood Bowl then two at the Greek...
We shall see.
Congrats to SonnyBoy and Junior on the Kings historic series win! I work in Silicon Valley and Sharkies fans are on suicide watch...
oh and BLACK SABBATH rules!! : )
I can say (with slight confidence) that the show flow will be different than that.
I have some Shark-fan friends. Sounds like the same take I got from them.
Also, Mike Patton and Greg Werckman (Ipecac) are Sharks season ticket holders, and are not pleased with that result.
Dan Boyle (Sharks defenseman and Alternate Captain) is a Tool/APC/Puscifer fan and has been to a few shows. Seems to be a nice guy, and I kinda felt bad for him having his team get eliminated in such a grand fashion, but as a Kings fan am glad it happened.
I didn't make it to the Sabbath show at the Hollywood Bowl, but I heard mixed reviews from some who did.
Super bummed the Kings second home game against the Quacks is on Saturday too. I'm so conflicted I haven't decided which ticket to sell yet. I am going on Sunday as well for Cinquanta so maybe I could live without night 1. Dammit. 1st world country problems, I know!
Thanks for the Kings props, Embryo. No one was more surprised than me when we got 4 in a row. And now the first 2 in Anaheim? If our battered defense can just keep it together, we might be onto a similar run as 2011-12.
I really enjoyed Sabbath. And there's just something about the Hollywood Bowl... it's impossible to have anything less than a good time there. Ya, Tool at the Bowl one day would be incredible!
That what I was leaning towards too. It would rankle me a bit though if the APC setlist changed up between the two nights. But... ya I am a huge Kings fan. Have been for 20 years and a season ticket holder for 13 of those. One other consideration is I do have a ticket for game 5 at the Ponda on Monday night. Of course that game is only *if necessary*. But it's likely I am either looking at 2 nights of Maynard and 1 playoff game, or 1 night of Maynard and 2 playoff games. All in a 3 day stretch. Tough problem to have!
Nah, go to the show both days. The kings play every year. This b-day concert might be the only time to see APC and Puscifer at the same show. There might be even different special guests both nights. King's seem to have this series in the bag so you can see them in the next series. Or the ducks fight back and there will be more games to go to.
Also good thoughts. Here's the thing though- I am travelling on business starting late next week. It looks like if the Kings do advance, I'll miss the entire 3rd round. But you are correct that the Cinquanta line up is very special. And I will get to see more Kings games, regardless.

I had this EXACT same problem on the tool west coast trip when the Leafs were in California at the exact same time! LOL we are spoiled mother fuckers.
So, as someone who understands the loyalties and passion that comes with following an NHL team, a PLAYOFF game is the obvious decision in this situation. Plus, you're still going to Cinquanta on Sunday anyways? Go the Kings. Or wait a minute....
I am going to contradict myself here and recommend you do both nights for Maynard instead. Simply because (as the poster above pointed out) this is not just a concert, this is a once-in-a-lifetime event that even for the maynard/puscifer-hating tool fans, will be something special to remember. You still get the third day for hockey. I don't think the business trip should factor into this decision.
Yeah, do both nights at Cinquanta dude.
Oh, and by the way I just booked my ticket. Maybe we can meet up on Saturday or Sunday? I definitely owe you a beer after I cancelled our plans last minute in March (which I still feel bad about, by the way). Plus I owe you a second beer for that fucking LA-Leafs bet I lost last season.
Thanks for the input everyone. I appreciate the comments! I have opted for Cinquanta both nights. Ultimately, swayed by the beers kanaduh will be supplying me! Well, that and I feel the event is unique enough that I would want to see it more than once since I have the opportunity. Plus, the Kings series is going at least 5 now and I have tickets to both Monday's game and Wednesday's game. It also occurred to me that I can DVR the Saturday game and kind of get the best of both worlds. Still at least get to see the game.
I think you made the right choice. As a huge hockey fan I understand. But what if the Kings were to loose in double overtime. That feeling is hard to get over, and no matter how entertaining it is at the time if they loose it was a wasted night. At least that's how I have always felt. Either way there is more hockey this year. And the concert is a one time thing.
So what do you guys want to do pre-game? Happy to meet either inside the venue or at somewhere outside, then walk up. Little Dom't was my suggestion if outside.

My guess is Ducks get their butts beat Saturday because they're up against a better team. Monday will be the one that separates champions from also-rans.
And yes, hanging with the Embryo for yet another go 'round makes for a good reason to be there! I just talked with kanaduh too, as well as a few Coachella boardies. Doesn't sound like we have a consensus to meet anywhere outside the Greek but should instead meet inside at the main bar area just as you walk in. You got my number so we'll make whatever happen. I'll be at the venue no later than 7pm.
fucking eh. I'm 34,000 feet in the air, completely buzzed from wine at 9:00 AM, and posting on toolnavy. Humanity and technology are incredible things.
super stoked for this weekend! Especially meeting a bunch of posters from this place. See you bastards on the other side.

Btw, I have an extra for tonight's show guys. Damn good seat- Section A, Center, Row K. It's literally smack in the middle and close. Anyone wants it, just PM me and make an offer.
