i'll be going from manhattan too, it would be smart to share some taxis, maybe skip the train on the way back and split a cab with 2 or 3 people, im going form peen station too. what time do you think we need to leave peen station. ive never been to new york, so i am goin to try to go to the COSM during the day saturday
agreed. Just take a taxi from Hempstead to Uniondale both ways...and dont loiter around the Hempstead station...it would be better to stay at the Coliseum a little later so you get to Hempstead station just before the train comes.

Sharing a cab sounds like a good idea, but it's hard for me to pin down a time. My brother usually makes me late for everything, and things generally don't go as well as i plan them.
As for Cosm, i would love to go there during the day, and then make my way up to the arena. If I make it to Cosm I'd probably be there until they closed and kicked me out. So if anyone happens to be there at that time and wants to traipse across Long Island with me, just say "hey, you goofy looking bastard. Going to the TOOL show?" and I'll try desperately to remember what the hell you're talking about

is hempstead really that bad? shit. im totally just wingin this whole thing, i know nothing about new york, never even been, and i don't have a ticket yet, but most shows there are some in the parking lot, and its fuckin tool, so i got to do it. how long do you guys really think it will take on a train from penn station to the show. i def think if some people will be at cosm we should catch the train together and split a cab on the way back, that waty we save a little cash on the way, but afterward just get out of there and back to the city, just a thought though, if anyones down for splitting cabs we should talk more, it'd help me since i know nothing about that area,
its a ghetto ass area. Not a place you wanna be walking around alone at like midnight. I commute there to school everyday. I was surprised what a dump it was since i pictured every area in Long Island to be nice. but i imagine they'll be alot of peeps at the station after the show. so it should be okay.
I should have room for 2 people in my back seat, 3 if there is a girl involved (beacuse they are smaller, i didnt mean that in a perverted way or anything!) I may or may not be able to shuttle a few of you out of town bums from the train if you just roll into my town, which is a hell of alot easier then doing the jamaica transfer. PM me if yer in need, and I will let you know in the coming days what my situation is on getting there and if I have a seat in the car, its yours.
If I was you Id definitely leave Manhattan by 5:30, I dont know how the schedule is on Saturday but figure about an hour to get there. Get the round trip ticket of course. I dont remember the area being that bad, but I would take the word of that dude who goes to school there. Once youre inside the station you should be all right. The busses are N70, N71, and N72 (according to listings). Coming back from shows there I remember sometimes we had to wait about an hour for the train to come, we wouldnt be back in the city until 1 or 2 AM.
So how are we going to do it !!!! Several of us are going from Manhattan so I think is better if we all meet up to go together. I dont know how much it takes to get there from penn station so I was thinking of getting there like around 4 or 5. And for the trip back it sounds better to share a taxi concidering that Hempstead sounds a little hostal ! I dont mind if a group takes the train back to the city since its harder to get shoot as a gruop LOL. Remember i'll flying in from Dominican Republic just for this show. My email address is [email protected] add me to MSN (if u have that ) or PM me the people that are leaving from Penn Station so we can meet up.
P. S. .. Ill bring rum if u want some ;)

I just made some research...and its better if we met at 4 o 3 something at penn station to avoid peak traffic and get there early to have some drinks...
taxi services in the area from Hofstra U web site, if you are planning to take a taxi back to the city Id suggest ordering a taxi ahead of time(on the day of the show?):
All Island Taxi Service (516) 481-1111
Pub Taxi Service (516) 483-4433
Hempstead Taxi (516) 489-4460
edit- Im most likely not going to this show myself, other commitments...

thanks for the info george. that is great to have those #'s actually. i was told there would not just be taxis driving around that area, especially at 11 or 12. i am down for getting there at a decent time, because i dont have a ticket yet, but quite frankly could care less if i saw any of ISIS. but i will be scouring the parking lot for a ticket. i do also wan to get some time at the COSM, i have never been to NY so would like to enjoy it,a nd like i said i really am not concerned with ISIS, even though TOOL likes them, it would be like seeing a weak garage band to see anybody before TOOL. i def think some of us call a cab just before the show and have them ther around 11 or so. just an idea. its a few days a way now so figured throwing out some plans won't hurt. i know how my friends a lot of times don't plan and then we screw up what were doing. but right now im wingin the whole thing, just stoked to be goin.

I hope u know that u should bring atleast 300us for the scalps with tickets :P...anyways..yeah I wanted to go to the COSM but time dosent allow it. And I want to see ISIS to, there not weak but there not TOOL. Anybody going from Manhattan PM me so we can hook up in Penn station to take the train together.
exactly right about the taxis- from what I remember we always had a problem finding a taxi there and if you find one they would only want to take you to the train station and would charge $5 per person, I dont know if it is still like that though. just give them a call and see what they say as far as ordering one, doing it ahead of time is definitely way to go. As far as tickets the show is not sold out yet, also theres a couple of people around here trying to get rid of their extras, look back in this thread.
keep in mind that ticketmaster will probably release some tickets the day of the show around noon...so you dont need to buy scalped tickets if you dont have any tickets the day of the show..

Bunch of us are just gonna meet where we see balloons, grills and beer so just hop on over and shout "TDN!" and see if the people know what the fuck you're talking about lol
I have no idea really when I'll be anywhere, but I'll be wearing a black shirt with white sleeves that says, "Think, it's not illegal yet." Anyone who happens to see me and gives a shit, feel free to say hello, or buy me a beer, or drive me to the arena, or give me a free ticket, or explain to me what Abstraction is, or anything else. I'm very approachable.

i'll meet up with some folks, im just not really sure about my time schedule yet, my buddy lives in manhattan, but i have no idea where, ive never even been to new york, so it may not even help me to know where he lives, but i am going to try to go to cosm during the day sat, then make my way to the train, we should try to meet up, does anyone know the train schdule? then if there are some of us going together we should call a cab on the way, that way we don't have to wait for the train after the show. i also still need to find a ticket so id be ok going early but if i get a ticket i dont see any reason to be too early, but its whatever to me as long as im inside before tool starts thats all that mattters. illl hang out at a taligate though, eat and drink. sat is my birthday so im looking to hava good time
well I wanted to go to the COSM but I wanted to get to the stadium early, lets meet up in the train station and come back after the show in a taxi. If ur into it just PM me to get ur # and name.
At $8 per beer, thats probably the least likely to happen...fucking venues and their gouging
Yeah, tell me about it. That's what the tailgate is for. If anyone is cool enough to offer me a burger or something to drink, I'll let you rub my brother's belly.

for those that are flying in that day, particularly later in the day, it would probably be easier to go right to the Coliseum than to Manhattan because youre just going in the opposite direction, especially since when youre going to be leaving Manhattan, its going to be rush hour.
