Hey lookey here. I thought I was the only one with Undertow at #1 (not that I've ever formally ranked all of their songs). Actually, my favorite songs from most of their previous albums happen to be the album titles as well (Opiate, Undertow, and Lateralus). Too early for me to fully judge 10,000 Days songs.

I was thinking Jambi was top 5, but now I'm pretty sure it's top 3.

i think the whole lost keys/rosetta stoned tracks are my favorite cant listen to one without the other.

Jambi and Right in Two are getting up there on my list.

man i my fav song used to be third eye but i think the wings combo or the lk rossetta stoned combo may top it because it already equals it... the thunder sounds in wings give me chills.

The pot, Rosetta Stoned, Right in Two - Now some of my favorite tool songs EVER.

Nope mine's still 46 & 2. But Wings/10,000 Days is my favourite on the album.

Jambi and The Pot are up there for me. In a month I'll be able to say for certain.

Need to see them in a theatre to know for sure.

You, Sir, Speak nothing but truth. 46&2 is my favorite tool song as well...especially after hearing live and wanting to kill someone due to the sheer amazing-ness of it all.

"wings/10,000 days" and "right in two" are already battling for the top spot with the cover of "no quarter" the live version of "pushit"

There is no song on 10000 Days that can match "Hooker with a Penis".

Thanks. I would Like to consider myself a true TOOL fan. Anyways, I always feel bad making alist like that because in all reality I do play some bias in there because I happen love certain songs and feel bad that sometimes I do not give others enough credit. Oh, well. I still think Undertow is my favorite album. It like enriching uranium- just raw power.

hmmm....

personally i dont think there's a single tool song that's better than any song on aenima. maybe its just me, but i cant imagine music getting better than aenima and i highly doubt tool will ever top it. but....as far as the song on 10kdays go....i think Jambi has a really fresh sound to it. reminds me of early tool....not because it's "heavy"...but because it sounds refreshing and youthful in a sense. the pot is similar. right in two is quite amazing as well. one of the best "slow burners" tool has written. 10kdays does not blow me away as much as it seems to be affecting others. i certainly find it good and at times i'm very affected by it on an emmotional level, but it's not "the best song tool has ever written" as adam jones believes. also...the last half of vicarious is amazing. especially the "the universe is hostile" part and what comes before it. nice ramp into the outro. i love intension as well. better than disposition, a similar song, in my opinion. um...rosetta stoned is growing on me. some really nice ideas in there, but for now it's just a tad bit mediocre sounding to my ears.

I am sorry, but in my defense I am not shitting on 10000 Days I just haven't let it totally into my alltime favorite songs list too much. Nor is it my favorite album yet but it is still the only thing playing on repeat in my stereo.

adam is a joke, if anyone is responsible for making it the worst cd, its his endless riffs mindlessly tossed onto unfinished songs.

I'm torn between Lost Keys/ Rosetta Stoned and Wings for Marie/ 10,000 Days. Both are in my top 10 right now and could move into the top 5 real soon. But, picking my fav Tool song or album is like trying to pick the hottest woman. I love 'em all ;)

This entire list was composed while listening to the albums and does change +/- 5 for songs 25/30-50 but in the top 25 maybe +/- 2 spots. So, I feel this list is pretty accurate. Notice, '10000 Days' did not make into the top 20, yet someday as the songs sink in a bit more they may grow on me a bit more. Most filler tracks are at the bottom and are ordered by how much I do enjoy them. That damn baby still makes me cringe. I only did this to get a perspective on how I feel about '10000 Days' and its not that it is not a bad album it just is not the best of TOOL either. Hope you guys enjoy this list.

'Ænima' and 'Lateralus' are close on this list and are exchangable but just like the previous list this is pretty much set in stone.
The scores next to it are how they rate with a par score of 32. I provided the percentage score to show the difference compared to the par score. Think of it like golf. The major killer for the scores on 'Ænima' and '10000 Days' was filler tracks. Notice how 'Opiate' has the least filler tracks and has the highest score. Overall I still think 'Undertow' is the best album.

No, I do not know what this proves but I enjoyed doing it anyways. Yes, I have too much time on my hands but my car is broken down and its too early to drink.

Honestly, no. It did inspire me to go buy and listen to the new APC albums though, which rock. Something about this album is lacking...

I hope you don't mean "motive/motion" or whatever they were called. Those are a huge dissapointment but the band APC kinda died with 13th Step that was the last squeeze in the orange.

Well I have been listening to Mer De Noms and Thirteenth Step - you're right about eMotion or whatever it's called being really weird. I'm just going to pretend this new album was never released and continue listening to Opiate/Undertow/Aenema/Lateralus.

Somone mentioned the other night to me that he found a better track order for the tracks on '10000 Days', similar to Lateralus, so I got on the boards and looked around and found an idea of how to change them and it makes the album much more intense. BTW, on my list 'The Pot' and 'Jambi' need to be moved up a few. Perhaps, I will edit the list.

I think its clear that all these lists with 10000 Days in the top have not even HEARD half of the songs on yours.

You correctly list, out of the top 35 TooL tracks, only two from their new CD.

That says it all about how much 'effort' they put into this, how many days of the past 5 years were spent on their 'art' (and how great they used to be when they actually cared and had some incentive)

Thank you. Its not easy because I have bias for some songs other songs listening to them again I was blown away by their power but as soon as I switch songs I hav eto find a place for it. Each songs has its own lifeforce driving it which is why they can grow. I guess it is all my opinion but I still want it to be as true and honest as possibe.

the pot. i was in an almost medidative state from wings for marie/10k days, then it came on and just kicked my ass on the first listen

I was like that too but only because Maynard sounded so damn odd.
