adam talks about it in a 2 min interview on youtube. he said its out of his control at the moment... youtube is down right now... just search for tool interview am rock
Whenever I hear this song I always think about going really fast in a car at night and seeing all the lights pass you buy in streaks. I think that would be an awesome thing to add in the video for it.

you keep replying the same way to all my post, but have yet to discredit the information i have provided.
the video was leaked. it was also posted here a while ago but the links were taken down because of the legal implications perhaps?
if it's going to be redone it will look virtually the same as what we've already seen.
it may or may not have been posted in the actual forum here, but it was spread around.
I know the vid you were talking about... it was kinda convincing until a saw a piece of the "Come To Daddy" video by Aphex Twin integrated into it.
If we're on the same page, their was a chick in leather and some news brodcasts, then the thing coming outta the tv (aphex excerpt). right? or did I miss something cool?
I know alex grey is once again workin with tool and their cgi buddies... and of course adam is gonna do his part... I just hope it has more kikass sequences like the end of parabola.

Anyone know the name of the CGI house Adam works with?
Jones' studies began in 1983 at the Hollywood Makeup Academy by learning "straight make-up," because he thought it would help him out. His focus of interest shifted to film, and he began to work as a sculptor and special effects designer where he learned the stop-motion camera techniques he would later apply in Tool's videos for Sober, Prison Sex, Stinkfist, Ænema, Schism, Parabola, and Vicarious. He graduated in 1987.
After graduation, he went to work at Rick Lazzarini's "The Character Shop". During the next couple of years, he worked on a TV show called Monsters. He designed and fabricated a Grim Reaper makeup and a Zombie head on a spike (later used in Ghostbusters 2), among others. After that he went to Stan Winston's where he worked on Predator 2, sculpting a unique looking skull for the Predator's space ship interior.
Jones worked on several other big films in Hollywood doing makeup and set design, including Jurassic Park and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
-It says stop-motion will be in vicarious... which we all knew... if i recall correctly he gives credit to the Brothers Quay as inspiration.
as far as cgi... i know they switched cgi companies because of a conflict... not sure who they're with now.
Note: If any of this has already been said... sorry... didn't follow thread.

That ''leaked'' video, is definately not the Vicarious video. It was a video someone made and that was proven a long time ago.
Besides Adam Jones and Alex Grey can do so much better than taking footage from TV and making a montage of shit with some chick in a leather suit. However I liked it as a fan video or whatever you want to call it.
...and I saw an interview with Danny Carey saying that regarding to music videos and whatnot, that you can expect the same stuff they've been doing already.

if it was fake, it was pretty good work all the way around...what sources do you have to say it was fake? i havnt seen the video or youtube or google video yet either, if it is there then you're right it might be fake.
the reoccuring doll is what convinced me it was real. who would go through all the trouble to make that?
as for the aphex twin splicing? never seen that in the version i watched.

''An "unofficial" Tool video for "Vicarious", the first single off their new album, "10,000 Days", has been posted online at YouTube.com. Clocking in at seven-minute-plus, "Vicarious" will begin arriving at rock radio stations on or around April 17. The band's fourth full-length disc, "10,000 Days", will surface on May 2.''
I found that on www.ultimate-guitar.com, and blabbermout.net. Here are the articles which say the same thing...
When you search on Youtube.com, you mostly get the same video with the chick in the leather, or some other videos people made using the 10,000 Days commercial, etc.
Besides I don't think Adam Jones and Alex Grey would release a video and then say the CGI team was crap and then go redo it or whatever the case may be. The Video probably wasn't even mastered yet.

The new CG house that tool is using is called Hydraulx. I first heard about them switching CG houses on a CG forum and the guy who is doing the new video commented that it is "almost done". check out http://www.hydraulx.com to see some of their other work. They also did the passive video for a perfect circle, which is loaded with crap from constantine but since they did the VFX for the movie, i suppose it is marginally acceptable.

They worked on "Parabol/Parabola" and "Weak and Powerless" as well.
Why would they still be making a video, since now the radiostation's are playing The Pot! ??? Why go release the vidoe for that! I like to see them release a video for 10,000

so US tour and no video on the big screen? i am going to the SLC show and hopefully the play the real video there. i will be really stoked to see the new video first before anybody. just like seeing the 10,000 days songs live first at coachella.
On tool's website on the newsletter, I read that the video is done, and they might start playing Wings, and 1000 days live, once 1000 days comes out as their new single, after the pot's run.

Is 1,000 days 10,000 days with 10% of the emotion? Fuckin radio sellouts, I tell ya.

Yeah, youtube has fortunately been giving me my live Tool fixes since I live in Florida and they don't like us or something.
That video was disappointing. the only thing i liked was the lady in leather that ends up being a big white hunk-o-love in the end. Like an ode to teh AENIMA artwork.
I do honestly believe you mean Undertow... not Aenima.
