"Parental WARNING [EXPLICIT LYRICS] .....Tool lyrics are disturbing, violent and graphic.
Children who listen to these lyrics may experience depression, anger, fear, dissociation and develop inattention and trancing out as a habit.
It is highly suggested that parents inspect their children's CD collection for "Tool" and review the CD so that they may consult with their child about the music and remove it from their collection. If your child has internet access, be aware that he or she may be able to obtain this music from various places on the internet that allow downloading of music."
This is fucking crazy.. I was searching the web yeasterday, and I found this shit..
Hysterical parents. What harm can Tool's lyrics do? They can't disturb a child's mind, more than a violent movie or such.
If a child/teenager/adult (whatever) decides to listen to Tool, they should be allowed, and they will probably be mature enough to understand the meaning of the lyrics, and not interpret everything as it is written. God damn, this shit pisses me off..
Well...Opiate does have alot to do with sensorship...
lt's bullshit! Agreed.

I experiance depression, anger, fear, dissociation and develop inattention and trancing out as a habit, but I blame it on all the weed nyquill and dextramethorphan...
My parents never gave a flying fuck what I listend to though... so yeah. Good times for me.
the only thing that fucks kids over is bad parenting or just maybe a rough life, people don't realize how smart children are, you learn all the basics of living life b4 age eleven and it is said you can pick up on things much easier when you are a child, expose your children to as much as possible this is what prevents problems
''i'm a genie in a bottle, you gotta rub me the right way''
OR
''jump, jump jump on the diiiiiiiiiick, suck suck on the tits.''
Censorship should never happen, especially when it comes to children.
I'd much rathger them cry a bit and understand the process of death than spend a thousand samolians a week on some douchesack psychiatrists' funny couch ''delving into'' the reasons why daddy lied to them about grandma.
''why? why would he tell me that about the farm? She wasn't really on a farm with other grannies laughing and playing and having fun.''
My kid will be the kid who ruins Santa Clause for all the kindergarteners, and i will love him or her more for it.
Hiding life from the living was Falwell's job, and he's dead now.
You know, I can think of a ton of Tool songs that'd be just fine for the listening of a child. Take for instance, anything off of Lateralus. I mean Ticks is pretty angry, but that's a fundamental human emotion I would expect anyone to be familiar with. There's a lot fewer offensive songs by Tool than one might think.
I just got to see them last night. Fucking phenomenal show. If any of you guys haven't got to see them this tour, it's totally fucking worth it. I don't think they've ever really failed at delivering the goods in their 17 years of fine service. The show was really tight. Very close to Danny the entire time.

Well said. If we want sane kids, show them reality. I wouldn't necessarily wake them up with Opiate or Ticks and Leeches, but shit, it won't kill them.
The String Quartet for the womb days, Lateralus for the infancy, and then Aenima for the toddling.
If they hate it, fine.
I fucking doubt they will.
My 4 year old son sings Tool because he hears it so much. I'm quite sure when he is singing The Pot he doesn't even think about the meaning of the song, he saves that for baa baa black sheep.

I used to listen to Tool a lot when I was pregnant and after she was born she would always sleep soundly to it. Now that's she older, I only will let her hear the songs with no inappropriate language. I don't really want her to pick up on that, but I don't want her to miss out entirely.

HAHA. That's pretty funny.
I think Tool's music helps the majority of fans express and get rid of their anger and fear.
I often do trance out and not pay attention while listening to them, though, because I'm busy focusing and soaking in the music. Haha.
