Any news on the pre-sale for VIP packages that supposedly happened an hour ago? Can't find anything.

Which way is better to discover San Francisco? by car or using cabs?
I've been to San Francisco two times and from what i remember, parking lots can be really expensive.

Cabs, parking in that city is not a fun thing to do. It's so much easier to just cab place to place walk around see what you want then just use a cab to get to a different part of the city.

Depends on what parts you're going to visit, but I found it pretty easy to get around on foot and using the occasional cable car.

I live here, don't get a car. Public transit, Uber, and walking is the way to go. Stay at the Phoenix hotel and walk to the venue.

Re: March 11th 2014 - San Francisco

Was wondering if there will be a ticket hookup thread started for this tour? I fucked up and dropped the ball big time! Didn't realize that my brothers birthday was just five short days after this show! This will be my tenth time seeing TOOL and he was with me at the first show at Paramount Theater in Oakland! He's pretty butthurt that he hasn't been able to attend since! I apologize for posting this on this thread, I know it's frowned upon, but I had nowhere else to turn (besides ticketbastards ugly kid sister stubhub!). The wife and I, and hopefully brother, will be partying at Tommy's Joynt before the show! It's just up Van Ness fr the venue. For those of you who don't know about this place, look it up! Very cool history and a great place to throw a few back and get your grub on! Once again, I apologize for asking about tix, but someone out there HAD to buy one too many!

For sure, if you plan to see the sights jut in and around SF the posts about using Uber, cable cars and buses are correct.

If you want to go across a bridge and see the sights like Marin, Napa or Santa Cruz, you'll want a car.

I'm a get out and see stuff kind of guy. But if you want to just hit Fisherman's Wharf and maybe Alcatraz, you don't need a car...

Take BART...hands down best way to get there. There are stations at both Oakland and SF airports. The exit off BART is civic center. Your welcome. ;)

Re: March 11th 2014 - San Francisco

Hey, so last week I bought a VIP ticket to the 2nd night in San Fran on Toolarmy (super excited). I was emailed a receipt with a confirmation number, and for the entire week there was a pending charge on my credit card however the charge never officially went through and is no longer pending. I called my bank and all they could do was say to contact the toolarmy because they never put the charge through. Have any of you heard of this before with toolarmy? I sent them an email, but I know they are pretty slow at responding, if they even do. I'm coming in from out of country, and am waiting on this to buy my plane ticket. What do you think?

If you got an email receipt then it is official. That kind of thing with money not being charged, or charged then reversed then charged again are just things that happen with online purchase. Of you got the conformation email you are all good.

I bought a VIP ticket for this show but still haven't gotten anything other than my receipt, nothing from them as far as where we'll need to meet before the show to pick up our tickets and other free goodies. Has anyone else gotten anything from them for any of the VIP packages to any of the shows?

Re: March 11th 2014 - San Francisco

Hi there everyone, sorry to interrupt, first time here. The 12th is the first day (ever) in SF for me and my girl. As Tool fans we'd love to see the concert but apparently we're too late for regular tickets. Does any of you (or friends or reliable relatives) have two tickets for sale for a reasonable price? Would be a awesome start of our days in SF... Cheers, Frank, Amsterdam NL.

Don't get to nervous about not having tickets. Just keep watching Craig's List prices are almost face already and there are tons on the secondary market. I know a lot of people bitch about stub hub but by show time I'd bet the insant downloads will be face.

Thanks. I was a little nervous but went ahead and bought my plane ticket, and then got another confirmation email from toolband yesterday. So so so excited.

Do you know if the floor is general admission or assigned seats?

I'm contemplating whether or not to buy a regular ticket for the first night since I will be in town, or let the excitement build and wait for the sound check.

Wow, what an odd way to set up those songs...was it jarring to go from Intention to Pushit?

Re: March 11th 2014 - San Francisco

The show last night was amazing. Maynard was in a great mood, interacting with the crowd, dancing and generally seemed like he was having a good time. I had the VIP ticket, but since this was GA we only got a 5 minute head start before they opened the doors. I was able to get a seat on the lower balcony in the first row and the view was great. The Q&A with Adam was awesome, he spent 2 hours discussing the band, his guitar techniques and even played Jambi all the way through about 5 feet in front of me. I thought $500 was a lot, but I have zero regrets and it was completely worth it. He is one of the most down to earth people I've ever met and genuinely seemed to enjoy spending time with the fans. All in all, the best concert I've ever been to

Re: March 11th 2014 - San Francisco

show was excellent. One of the loudest crwods I have ever heard

MJK made a comment about a homeless man.

asked if we were all coming back tomorrow

Kanaduh is correct about the new section of Opiate - it's a new song.

visuals are up there as some of the best ever

got in line at 5

Best set list of the tour so far..

have headache need nap

They weren't horrible and you can hear the Adam influence here and there..

Would have preferred Jello or The Melivns but I guess that has already been done.

Have to agree...new sections are parts of new songs....dont see them putting all that effort in extending songs when you are in process of new album...anyways mind was again blown last night.

Re: March 11th 2014 - San Francisco

Skipping tonight but had a great show last night. Got in line about 230 and was able to nail down the 1st row lodge seats in 209. If anybody gets a chance even to walk down to the rail on the edge go check it out. It was one of the best views I've had of the stage including a full above view of Danny. If you're in for VIP those are the seats to get for sure. Heading to Fresno Friday
