Scalded by the Heat of Potential Reflections that Burst Forth and Sway from that Tree

Even the stillest and oldest of trees is continually being borne anew. . .
millions of new cells being assembled each moment. . .

a stream of ones and zeros running to and thru. . .
each seam of fiber hot with the electricity of neverending change. . .
photons and electrons both here and gone in the same instant. . .
ones superimposed over zeros
summed. . . . divided. . . probabilitized
into whatever fantastical spell the eye of the beholder just happens to be under
six of one and ahalf dozen of the other

The probabilities strobe too fast for us to fall through the carbon that withholds us. . .
It is a bubble that pops and reforms faster than our faculties can perceive.

It was a psychedelic inception
that brought me this deception
that I believed with my perception
and subsequent
super-mind-infection
that stirs my soul's defection
from this body's warm protection
that I received without election. . .
now, myself, just a section
apart from other sections. . .
bereft of predilection. . .
and left with just a question.

What is this that I see?
Is it truly just a tree?
Is it you, is it me?
Is it truthful, is it free?
Without me, would it be?
Without it, could I see?

Is it just a photon:

whose depth:

can surely be
no deeper than a flea
yet wider than this sea
of atomic debris,

who's beaming:

in a flee
from the grasp of
gravity
From the horizon
here to me,
oh so constant-ly
in three-sixty degrees
just to lecture me
on the purpose
of "be."

Hmm . . . I wonder.

I really liked it until you started rhyming like a madman, id almost say scrap those parts, and stick to more of what you were doin early in the piece.

Re: Scalded by the Heat of Potential Reflections that Burst Forth and Sway from that

haha I see. I hate rhyming schemes as well. . . it creates a trap. . . .a box that traps your thoughts. . . but then. . when i get trapped in these self-created boxes. . . i feel the challenge of making the box make sense, making it functional . . . i've backed myself into the confines of a corner. . . and then i feel obligated to make the best of the decisions I have made.

As much as I often find rhyming annoying. . . I really like the way I emerged from this box. . . I had to struggle out of it. . .I rhymed myself into a neuce and then wiggled my way out. . . . it may not be pretty, but I guess the overall concept that I held in my mind is what I like the most.

Unfortunately, this concept that I like so much may or may not come across in the writing. . .or maybe it did, but the rhyme scheme likely deters people from reading or even attempting to search for meaning. . . It's unfortunate. . but natural.

I know when I begin reading other's rhyming schemes, I don't hesitate to abandon them quickly hahah

I appreciate the feedback Carp.

This is my favorite piece of yours, and I beg to differ with regards to the rhyming. It was fun, whimsical.

Re: Scalded by the Heat of Potential Reflections that Burst Forth and Sway from that

Thanks Sys.

I enjoyed writing it.

It's not what I initially set out to write. . . but I just took whatever was coming to me.

The more I live. . . the more I see life as something insignificantly significant.

The beautifully confusing complexity. . . the unanswerable mystery. . . and the barely opaque fragility of it all. . . . i'm stuck in this likely delusion that reality is just a trivial membrane upon which the universe proceeds to fuck with us. . . and we have choice to either embrace and play along in the fuckery or choice to be apathetic and non-responsive to the apparent absurdity.

Had a depressing weekend overall . not overly sure why. . just did . . . it's weird to be so consumed with the wondrous mystery and awe that life imbues upon me, but then occasionally so filled with indifference and ennui. . . . . all wavelengths have their peaks and troughs I guess. . . .just odd for a self-aware frequency to have the desire to flatline upon arrival into a deep valley.

Guess I'm just being a little bitch hahah. . .

Time to roll the rock back up the hill :P
