People who are unhappy with the album are seemingly just looking for and picking holes in comments made my band members and such over the last few months. There is a 70 odd minute allbum absolutely 100% living up to the standard of those which they have produced recently. Any contradictions in dates and comments made by the band themselves or staff are a thousand times more likely to be human error, than a ridiculous hoax. Sure they may throw an april fool your way that they've died in a fucking bus crash, but I think they have better things to do than suprise everyone with an elaborate hoax such as the one that is being suggested.
The whole thing is pissing me off to be honest.

I am amused by the fact that the .m4a album leak is encoded at 48 Khz (48 thousand samples per second). I have no idea how that would happen because CDs are encoded at 44 Khz and Itunes for example doesn't seem to give any options as to the sample rate of a CD rip. Basically, whoever leaked the album did not use Itunes to encode.

The weird point is that 48 Khz is the sample rate of DVD audio. Basically, anyone ripping an .m4a file at 48 Khz did not get it from a standard audio CD.

i follow my heart. and feeling. always. this band has always, always released fresh new and groundbreaking music. has never repeated itself. always had albums that flew, as a whole story, as a unique piece of music.
for the first time i felf nothing. the music is so overrecycled. they repeat a lot of shit from their previous albums. the cover art is recycled. the production is strange. the music does not flow. there aint anything big, special or beautiful on this album.
i dont belive it is a decoy. i would love it to be. feel somewhere inside that it must be.
cause if it aint, i am truly truly dissapointed.

If the album coming out on May 2nd is the bands final obligation to Volcano Records, I do think it is conceivable that Tool has recorded a 2nd album and will release it sometime in the very near future independently from a label. I have a feeling that they want to do something that will change the course of the entire music industry as it is known today.

BTW - I do like 10,000 Days and by no means do I think the album coming on May 2nd is a hoax. It is in fact a Tool album.

The album's distinct lack of Toolgasms is what makes it a hoax in spirit. It is probably a real release, but made with minimal effort with something else being released within this year.
