It is interesting how Maynard never says "between supposed brothers" in Schism as it is posted. He says "between supposed lovers" everytime. He does the same thing in Passenger. The line is supposed to be "...and leather surfaces these and other lucky witnesses." He actually says "...and leather surfaces these are lover lucky witnesses." Also in that song he says "listen won't you please" instead of "this time (something posted) wont you please." Using it in the analogy of someone driving him home (and back). Like in jimmy someone who is calling him back home. (end of jimmy "im heading back home") (towards the end of passenger "don't just drive me home and back again")
there may be differences in what lyrics have been posted and what he sings. but i seem to remeber him saying once that he sometimes changes words in songs based on how he feels that day. i think either word fits in "schism". becuse to me the song's about relating to and communicating with people in our lives.
Did you ever think that Maynard just doesn't annunciate all the words he sings when he sings them? I do a bit of singing, and I find it hard not to slur words together...
Why cry conspiracy theory?
