Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I'll be at Emo's tonight to see Isis and if we're really lucky, a member or two of Tool as well. Crossing my fingers! I'll be bringing my camera, have been there before and like was stated in the San Antonio thread this place isn't exactly the most uptight about security! :)
I still have my ticket to the SA show :( Hoping for a reschedule and not a full cancellation.
oh and those going to the Dallas show, I hope someone can sneak a camera and full recording gear in. I got some great shots from the McFarlin show earlier this year :)
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
Adam Jones called LA radio station 95KISS FM today during the L.A. Lloyd' s show to apologize and explain the postponment of the San Antonio concert on 9/12.
To read about this phone interview, go to KISSROCKS.com and click under Rock Report. You can read Adam's actual interview. Hopefully this will put aside any rumors and gossip about Maynard illness.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I have a general concern. As many of you all know, the San Antonio, Tx show was "postponed." I understand, being in a band myself, that then the singer is sick, hes sick. I whole-heartedly understand would have done the same. However, I would have by now annouced some sort of date or info to those who paid and bought tickets. Seriously, I think its common courtesy, I am not insulting the band in anyway, they are great and I hope MJK get well for Dallas ( I am not going to that one). Please let mw know if you agree with me, or have anything in regards to the post.

Damn, if I wasn't going to see Thievery and Federico tomorrow I'd head out there. I can see some of the guys jamming with Isis, but I can't imagine "Tool" playing anything. Let us know what happens, and if you happen to get some insight beforehand, post it here.

Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
Any update as to whether or not this show is still on or will be postponed like the SA show?
I'll be heading to the AA center immediately after work, so dont wanna waste time in traffic if the show is cancelled.
Hopefully they jam out harder than ever if he comes back healthy.

The AAC's number is 214-222-3687. I won't have a chance to get online before leaving tomorrow to head to Dallas, so I'll be calling them to ensure that the show is still on. I suggest doing the same if you're in the same kind of situation as I am. Can't wait!

Well, the thing is, they're not sure when they're coming back. If you look at Adam's interview on KISSROCKS.com, he says they're hoping to come back later this tour or maybe on the next tour. So they obviously don't have anything set yet.

Ed zachary. It's not like they can get with the promoter of the SA show today and have a new contract drawn up. There' s a planning process and legal process that's involved. It'll probably be a good couple of weeks before there's any news on a rescheduled SA show.

Had a friend back out last minute, section 109, rox X, seat 10 (straight in front of stage): $100 OBO. You can PM me if you want it as long as it's before 10:00 tomorrow morning, or call anytime before concert time, 479-264-0369. If you call and I don't answer, leave a voicemail.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
For those interested, I have two extra lower level seats for the show tomorrow. Some friends I figured would go can't. I will be selling them for 75, which is the same price I paid for them. I will be outside the arena if one wants to make a transaction.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
No Adam, Justin, or Danny at Emo's :(
But, Isis rocked the house and showed themselves to be talented musicians! Cool band, glad I got to see them live. It was the bassist's 30th birthday and someone brought out a cake and we all sang him happy b-day. They did a one-song encore. Good shizzle.
Anyway, Tool please don't let me down on the reschedule issue as I won't be able to make it to Dallas tomorrow! (only had tix to the SA show, if they cancel I will have missed them this tour (besides the mini-tour))...

Basically it seems the setlist could be very much up in the air.
Maynard isn't going to miraculously get better. That means in all likelihood Dallas will get an abbreviated set. He got sick during the mini-tour, and as a result they cut The Pot from a bunch of shows (including the 3 I went to).

Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I emailed the airlines center for clarification on postponement or not. I'll let you guys know as soon as I get a return email. If anyone finds out before me, shoot me a pm as I'll be checking in sporadically throughout the day. Here's fuckin hoping!

You're right, we will probably get the abbreviated set, but Maynard has been sick for 4-5 days now, so if he is healthy enough to do the full show, I wouldn't exactly call that a miraculous recovery. Trust me, I won't get my hopes up though. I don't expect anything more than the Houston show.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I don't know, with the right combination of rest/meds, I've been able to do a sick-to-better 180 turn in a matter of 24 hours before....
I won't get my hopes up, but I just have this feeling we're going to get an incredible show tonight!! Right In Two and Jambi aren't extremely demanding vocally (not claiming to be a know-it-all but as a vocalist I have a rough idea), so I pleeeeeease just wanna hear those two songs and I'll be a happy boy!!
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I don't know about the rest of you, but I would personally love to hear them come out blazin with rosetta, then right into wings/10,000 days!! Wishful thinking, hell yeah!!
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center

I'm betting that they're going to play Rosetta Either way, because it's kinda an instruments-heavy song. But yeah, I would love to hear them open with that (with a Lost Keys intro!!). I was crossing my fingers they would play Undertow also (We got lucky last time they came to the Metroplex, as I hear they really don't pull that one out very often), but recent developments have all but killed those hopes.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
Hell yes I'm hardly doubting anymore that the show will go on based on what everyone has said. I'm not going to be to dissappointed if Maynard isn't full force because this is my first TOOL show and that will just make the next one seem so much better!
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
looks good then...
all i hope for is wings/10k days... and i think that we'll get them. especially, considering the rest of the repitoire, these are REALLY less demanding songs, vocally. especially considering our MJK's considerable vocal talents...
in the meantime, i'm just lifting my eye to heaven, conscious of my fleeting time here... or at least the fleeting time until the show...
See you there...
PeAcE...

Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
yeah, rosetta is pretty much a given at this point, but it would be nice to hear other stuff and yeah, I remember them playing undertow last time as well. We can only hope for a killer show after MJK has been off for a few days recuperating.
*is it just me, or do the day of shows take for.fucking.ever?!?!?
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
Eh someone beat me to the punch, posting about last night's Isis show. But yeah, it was definitely cool getting to see them play for an hour+ instead of that 30 minute set TOOL is giving them. The drummer told me they had originally been told they'd get 45 minutes on the TOOL tour, as one would expect for an opening band. Anyway, the show last night was great, there were tons of great pictures taken, a video, and an audio recording as well. All the guys in Isis are really cool to talk to as well, especially if you buy them a shot or two. I even managed to get their rare and elusive Live IV cd from the drummer, for free. I guess he appreciated how many shows I'm going to. I narrowly missed talking to the mouth of TOOL... Blair... which I'm kinda bummed about. I'd like to see if he actually talks like he types and posts. Anyway, all in all this was a killer night, and definitely worth the $12 and the time it took to come up. For those who didn't make it... you missed out for sure.
Oh and someone else already posted about the show being on for today... I got the same info from the guys in Isis. See y'all there.

Right in Two down in the Woodlands was a pretty damn good closer given MJK's condition, he even pulled most of Jambi off. So I'd hope we'll see those again.

I mean, as important as vocals are, I think that comes down to the fact that -- except on certain songs, like the Pot where he is really truly the LEAD player -- maynard's voice is truly just like another instrument. For the most part, he's 1/4 of a whole, and we'll still get a really awesome show even if he isn't going full force, because in Tool the other guys in the band are all equally important and I'm sure they're giving it their all.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I have an extra ticket for tonight in section 112, kinda in the middle of the section, if anyone may be interested. I would like to get 100 for the ticket to pay for the merch I'll be buying, but I'll take face value. Hit me up. My son decided he wasn't quite ready yet for the whole concert thing.
Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
7 is my planned arrival time. My three year old must go home before I can head out or I would ne ther sooner. I have him decked out in his TooL t' to help get ready for tonight. My little Tool/Stars Hockey fan! Arrrghh! this day is going to be a good day. I'm have feeling we are in for a hell of a show tonight..... I know Maynard was sick but I'm telling y'all I think tonight is going to be a reincarnation for the spirit of this tour. Welcome to Dallas TOOL. Thank You for gracing us.

Re: 2006/09/14 - Dallas, TX - American Airlines Center
I have a question. I have a seat in section 104 and also another one in section 210. The 104 is right by the stage but it is off to the side, I called the AAC and they said 104 is NOT obstructed... but I'm worried at that angle I won't be able to see everything clearly. On the other hand, 210 is a lot farther away.

So where should I sit?
Tough call on that one. At 104 you'll definitely be able to see the band pretty well, especially Danny and Justin, since it'll be from the side. But on the other hand, at 210 you'll be able to see all of the visuals and the band from the front, just not as close. I would probably go with 104 if I was in your position, but that would just be my preference.

well, I've sat in 105 before and that's the closest section without obstructions. I think there will be something in the way in 104, but it's your call. Just a heads up.
