A friend of mine(non Tool fan) said that Tool are becoming more user friendly. He cited record sales and photoshoots as evidence of this. I have to say im more inclined to believe that the world is getting more Tool-friendly, not Tool getting more user-friendly.
What do you think?

Undertow and Aenima are more accessible than Lateralus in my opinion. And the fact that the band has been virtually silent about the new record proves that they're not hyping it up...so I don't think they're getting user-friendly...

Who cares....
Listen to the music.
Enjoy it.
If you don't..... don't listen, but be dissappointed.
My point being, focus on the music, not on what they do about it, if you dont like the music, thats unfortunate, then you can bitch ;)

I think the world will be more tool friendly soon. Surely they're fed up with bad versions of new wave bands and sports metal acts by now? But i'm not afraid of Tool getting big.

TOOL much more well-known than most people think. Granted, there arent a TON of people that are crazed to the point that I am. But some, nonetheless.
I think the only real "step" toward any sort of "user-friendliness" that TOOL can make is to go MTV.
And since when did a "non-TOOL fan" opinion, regarding TOOL's direction, receive any credibility?

Open your eyes, d00d. This forum is full of them.
Beyond that, just go to a show. You'll see them everywhere.

Oh no doubt they're more user friendly. I mean, getting information from them regarding the new album is just so easy this time around. Every time I turn on the TV, Channel V has a Tool song or a news update on 10,000 days.
Plus this is their, what, 2nd album in 10 years, I don't know about other people, but I feel i'm being force-fed Tool, and to be honest, i'm a little sick of them!
They're obviously rushing out all these albums to ca$h in on their popularity before it starts to wane.
