If any Tool album is dead, it's 10,000 Days. I never truly liked 10,000 Days. To me, it doesn't have the edge like the other Tool albums. But that's just my opinion. Don't flip out on me.
To me, 10,000 is the least dead of any TOOL album. It has been overlooked, and really hasn't had that much play time compared to other albums. 10,000 has been out 2 years, compare that to any of their albums. Opiate is closing in on 20 years! This album has so much potential to grow on you, and if any of TOOL's albums could be dead, it certainly wouldn't be this one.
I've never really thought Opiate lived in the first place. So its a contender for dead album.
10,000 days was more artsy than the others, which is why it kinda got shunned by all the rock/metal fans here

See, my opinion is the opposite: of all Tool's albums this one hasn't stood the test of time. It's a bit like those prog albums of the 70s that nearly choked rock to death. Plus the recording engineering on it sucks. But the song Lateralus is still fucking incredible, espeacially live.
If I remember this record right, isn't Lateralus one of their most complex and prog-inflected songs, if not their most so?

i still dig lateralus, although i think it would have been better with less of the superfluous stuff between songs. glad to see 10kd got away from that tho.

We still like Tool--I think we're just here more now for joking around/being within the community than we are to create stimulating discussions about Tool's music.

only one badn i like more than Tool, thats radiohead. and the only reason is because of 10000 days and my opinion that it is weak. the subject matter is just...i don't know, on the same level as Deftones or something, and before 10,000 days, it was so much deeper, it seems to me like they just gave up on their spiritual journey.
