Should be a good weekend, luckily it's in the city and we can hit some bars and shit before the bigger acts, there isn't a ton I'm looking forward to earlier in the day, so The Muddy Pig, Happy Gnome and the likes of this will be calling for some quality beers!
What does everyone think of the schedule? Tool on for 1 hour starting at 845pm?? Something doesn't seem right here. First off, Tool is headlining and only scheduled for 1 hour? (DMB is scheduled for 3). Also, 845pm seems a bit early for them to come on considering it doesn't get dark until about 930pm right now. I've never seen Tool under a festival setting, but I would assume they will have a similar stage setup to their arena shows (screens, lights, lasers, etc). That being said, you would think Tool wouldn't come on until after dark...

Tool is like Chuck Norris, they both come and go as they please.
But seriously, 1 hour better not be accurate. It simply cannot be...
It's not accurate at all, it's really 1 hour and 15 minutes.
Tool are limited by a noise limit curfew of 10pm. That combined with daylight saving means that the set is going to be short presuming Tool want to play in some kind of darkness/twilight.
That said, when they played the Big Day Out in town here a few years ago, they had no problems playing past a similar curfew, and the set ended up being over 90 minutes.
And besides, take out some of the longer segues between songs and they can easily fit their set into 75 minutes if they wanted.
Anybody going to be tweeting the setlist and posting cool pics during the show?
Kanaduh, I'm looking at you.
Maybe. Not sure yet. If i'm too drunk and/or stoned, then definitely not. If you want I can give phone to my girlfriend to text it to you (no data in USA for me) and you can post it here.
In other news, does anyone here that is planning on going to Minny have any ganja they can sell to a friendly canadian? would be appreciated. pm me.

Fortunately, tweeting will not be permitted during Tool's set. Violators will be rounded-up and thoroughly obfuscated by a maelstrom of yeast infected twats.
Just pay attention to the show you're about to witness; there will be a small quiz at the end.

Correct hellboy, short Set but good. I wasn't too deep into the thick of it all. The visuals were top notch. Maynard cracked on stinkfist and didn't sing the rest of the song. Nothing out of the ordinary. The "juggler" was pretty cool.
Now to cathedral hill for some beers I think.

i find it a slap in the face that they're letting DMB play for THREE FUCKING HOURS!!!
I imagine the setlist length was Tool's choice rather than the festivals. I expect the reason for the short set length was due to daylight saving and a 10pm noise curfew.

I can assure you the setlist had absolutely nothing to do with the noise curfew. They played very loud rave music at the stage for at least half an hour after tool was done. I'll post a detailed review later.

Yeah, I found it strange when you mentioned the rave, as I read in a number of articles about the festival there was a very strict curfew.

I liked the guy wearing the 'Fuck Dave' shirt sunday and my name is Dave. The Flaming Lips were great too, but they played some long Spacey jammy shit that turned off a lot of people. I was surprised by Mutemath, they were very cool live.
This goes out to anyone who may know this guy, but especially you if ya know, you are him!
About 40-50 feet back from left-center of the stage on Saturday, this guy was standing behind my right shoulder snapping pictures with a beastly telephoto lens.
I asked him how he got a DSLR camera in as he was not a member of the press, and he gave me a vague answer about "having his ways".
Anyway, right around Stinkfist (3rd song) I could tell he was getting antsy. Tool mosh pits are rarer and rarer these days and it was clear this guy wanted to go to the pit.
He is a photographer though, so as he is the pit's edge he turns around and hands his camera to some kid that is joining him to mosh.
The kid's reaction is pure WTF, and so being a photographer myself I knew I had to protect this camera since I had no intention of moshing.
I get the camera from him and strapped it on. I tried to take pictures but did not want to waste any time trying to figure out how to get good ones while the beautiful sites and sounds were going on around me.
Long story short, I stood with my friends in our exact place long after the show ended, hoping the guy would turn up looking for his camera. He did not and I did not see him the next day at the festival.
The pictures he did get are very, very nice. He shot in raw and I am obviously beyond pumped to have some pictures of the band in glorious high resolution.
My ultimate point is, I want to get this camera back to the guy if I can.
Rivers Edge personnel said there was no real lost and found for the festival grounds so I decided to take this thing home with me.
It will get back to him if he can show me a photo of himself. I'll never forget what he looks like but I do also have a picture on my friend's phone with the mysterious photographer/mosher in it.
This may seem very disjointed and it is mostly because I'm beside myself over all this happening. If you can do anything to help, I'd appreciate it.
