Anyone else going for one ticket for both Pearl shows?
Was thinking it might be easier for one person to try for 2 tickets on the first night, and someone else go for 2 tickets the second night. Then swap.

Man I was thinking thats how it would be setup at the Nokia. When I saw Tool at the American Airlines in Dallas thats how they were setup. What was the show like at Nokia? Pretty nice inside?

If they are the same kind of metal detectors they have across the street at Staples, you could probably get something small in. I go to a lot of Kings games and one day,as I was reaching to throw my keys and cell down to go through the detector, my buddy says "Hey, you know you don't have to do that. I haven't taken my keys or phone out for over a year and the detectors don't go off". I tried it next time and sure enough, I walked right through without any alarm. Go figure.
My buddy at work is good friends with Mastodon and hung with them, along with Justin and Danny from Tool, at the QOTSA show. He said that Nokia was a little too 'corporate' for him. He griped about there being a security guard every two feet (but then we was backstage). He said they ran out of beer backstage at one point so he went out to get one from the bar and got pissed at the wait, and then the $9 price tag for one beer. Ah well.
Soundwise he thought it was just ok. He said it didn't sound 'warm' when QOTSA was on. He also is not a big fan of seats and prefers GA type floors. That it seemed to lack energy with all the seats and everyone just standing there.
Afterwards, I guess Justin wanted everyone to pile into his SUV and go party. My friend decided to bail. This is his second time hanging with Danny and he says Danny is a great guy.. and Justin has a smokin girlfriend. :) He said that Danny asked him if he wanted to be on the guestlist for the Nokia show. He said he didn't say yes or no, but could probably let his Mastodon friend know if he did want to go. I told him "Are you crazy? Get me backstage!!". But he just shrugged. He's not a big fan of Tool's music. Grrr.
Still on the fence about this Vegas show. Just not sure if I can pull if off that week to be out of LA. I may wait until it gets closer to show time and then check here and see if someone has an extra ticket. So if you end up with one, keep me in mind! I may be looking closer to show time.

yeah palms is freakin expensive. gold coast is right across the street and pretty cheap. if you book your rooms through swairlines website you get a discount. i doubt i can make it this time around but i may try to get tickets on saturday...that might persuade me enough to go again. i had a blast in the spring.

anybody here going to the show in SF we'll be hangin out partying at a place called tommy's joint. it's right down the street from the BG and there's a parking garage right across the street that charged us ten bucks for event parking when we saw pearl jam there

Tommy's Joint rules the friggin planet! They got Boddington's on tap there. Usually get their roast beef plate or the turkey dinner. Yum!

Hi. I'm going go to see Tool at the Portland,OR show on December 5th. I've never been to a Tool concert before so what exactly is it like and what should I expect? Also who else is going?

I AM GOING TO THE TOOL SHOW IN PORTLAND ON THE 5TH OF DECEMBER AND ALSO 4 OTHER SHOWS IN THE NORTHWEST! YOU CAN EXPECT THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE AND A CONCERT TO REMEMBER. TOOL IS THE BEST LIVE ACT THAT STILL TOURS AROUND ANYMORE! IF I WAS YOU I WOULD TRY TO GET TICKETS TO A COUPLE MORE SHOWS IF YOU CAN BECAUSE THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU WILL BE ABLE TO SEE TOOL IN THE NORTHWEST 4 A LONG TIME!

Right down the side street below the Palms is the Extended Stay America, 4270 S Valley View Blvd, Las Vegas. I stayed there in March for the shows and it worked out just fine. Having a frige and seprate rooms to sleep (the couch had a pull out bed) made it perfect.
The Gold Coast is closer but options are good.
Also since it's so close, the Olreans bottle shop has the cheapest booze and beer in Vegas!

no doubt sonny we have a buddy that lives in the city and turned us on to that place. you can't go wrong with anything you order there from the bar to the hof brau and the atmosphere is a one. we'll see ya there huh?

I almost wish you hadn't mentioned Tommy's- now I can't stop thinking about it! HAHA! Sure wish I could join you guys but SF is just not in the cards for me this tour. You be sure to nail down a brats and sauerkraut special for me.
One last tip before the on sale tomorrow- The Pearl has no bad seats. When I say this, I REALLY MEAN IT! None. Zip. You could get a seat at the very very back of this place and it will still be awesome. So whatever seat(s) you can get, do it! Angel has the right idea for getting two tickets, just search for singles and snap them up. Have a friend help you if possible. And keep checking as much as an hour later.
I'm going guys. I'm gonna make it happen! Look forward to seeing my So CA friends as well as my Canadian brothers. If my German pal Heinrich makes it out again then things are really going to get out of fucking control! Man did I ever laugh hard when we were goofin on him Ryan! Still a really cool guy, but straight up fun times. Once in a lifetime shiat, ya know? Vieks, hope you can make it too.

Man im getting butterflies right now!!! sonnyboy is right. the pearl is an amazing venue. the acoustics are ear piercing sharp. that is what really blew me away from last time. Well good hunting folks!!! May the force be with you!!!

Geesus did I ever blow a gasket on the first rep I talked to! I mean, I understand they can't hold on the line for extended periods prior to sale time. But it was 11:53!! And the guy would not stay on for those 7 minutes.
Luckily, I called right back and got in about 20 seconds before noon. Hehe. GA for Friday's show. Cya there!

Gonne be fun times! Just booked my hotel room. Guess the Gold Coast it is. Only doing one night. I would have considered two nights but the Gold Coast is already sold out for the 15th. :/

Just got Gold Coat as well for thursday and friday nights, not too $$$. Airfare from NC cost me, but, oh well could be their last show for awhile. Hope everyone else did ok. I got one extra GA for friday I'll hook someone up with once I get 'em in the mail. I'd have to say it's been a good day...

I sat 313 last time I think for the second show. Yea, you should be stoked! While it is the highest 'box' section (there are also 100s and 200s boxes) you get the added benefit of seeing their floor show. And the sound is perfect there.
You're staying at the Palms?? AFTER PARTY IN Selassie's ROOM!!! :P

Anyone been to a show at the pearl before and noticed you can just walk right down to the floor? Last time I noticed a whole ton of empty seats, and I think it's because everyone was on the floor.
