Yeah ... saw them at Lollapalooza at DTE (formerly Pine Knob) and the show was WAY better (not just because Maynard wasn't hiding as he does now). It will probably be sorta bright outside, too, as the sun doesn't set until 9:15 PM, leaving another 1/2 hour of civil twighlight. Yay!
My seats this time:
Center Section
Row AA
Seats 25 & 26
C U GUYS there!
God, I hope they play Pushit
Will I have a good enough view to see Maynard fairly well?
Why are these tickets 72 bucks a piece? Every other concert has had the best seats in the house (pavilion) for 55 dollars or cheaper except for two other shows (New Jersey 69$ and Ontario 65$). At the end of the day to buy 3 pavilion seats it was like 266$ (like 87$ a piece) after service charges. These are almost ebay prices. I was hoping there was gonna be some amazing opening band to warrant the price but if I know tool there probably won't be. I saw them in September with Isis (they suck....get a lead singer) and I know that Kinski is with them at the moment touring. I've heard similiar things about them being mostly instrumental.
Just in case anyone was thinking about remarking about lawn seats being cheaper and that I should have bought those....anyone who has been to the Knob (DTE) knows that lawn seats at this venue blow very hard. In fact with the wear and tear over the years its mostly just a big dirt pile.

Any insights? Thanks.
Yes ... start a mudslide ... and a mosh pit. You will surely get Maynard to talk.
As for the price ... well E-Gay charges about 200 dollars per ticket (in my experience). So 72 dollars doesn't seem that bad to me. Get a job, I guess.
People are selling tickets on ebay for pavilion seats similiar to mine for at or a little over cost. In fact I saw two sets of right side row B seats go for under 265.00 dollars which is just 133 a ticket. These would be steep if the ticketmaster price wasnt already so high.
I do have a job and this wont break my back or anything but I like to hit as many concerts as I can over the summer and I'll be going to festival concerts like Family Values that will probably be cheaper than Tool tix. Much love to Tool though. I know its a venue thing and not them.

Well, good news. We had shitty seats, but today I was browsing ticketmaster and found seats in right section row G. I sold my NN seats and got a pair in right section row G seats 15 and 16, so now, instead of being near the back of the place, I'm 7 rows from the stage.
I dunno what the fuck happened, but I have amazing seats.
I was looking at those, but I refreshed the page about 100 times and got closer. I think this is too good to be true though...I hope there isnt a fucking speakerbox in the way or something...
Ticketmaster is Satan. I was first in line and got center section row AA seats 25 & 26. Now, a few days before the show, people are getting closer and closer seats. I guess I can't complain much, as my seats will be in the dead center.
To anyone considering going to a Michigan show be sure to see the DTE show.
Tool are much better live in an outdoor setting. I will never see Tool again at an arena. Tool just doesn't pull it off in arena's.
The only reason I'm going to see them is because its at DTE. This is a great venue.
Pavilion is better than lawn as SAGET mentioned.
That is THE most insane thing I have ever heard. Most of Tool's shows are inside. If you limit yourself to just outdoor events, you are sacrificing like 90% of the tour dates already. I have had incredible experiences inside arenas. Depending on where you are, the sound can be fucking great. I have yet to see Tool outside (in about 4 days that will change), but I have a hard time believing they are that much better outside, considering indoors has been phenomenal for me. If anyone has a chance to see Tool even once, GO GO GO, regardless of where the hell it is.

You're in for a treat, man. I've seen TOOL @ DTE at least 3 times (Lollapalooza and Ozzfest), and the experience was far better than at the Palace. DTE has great sound. Plus, we may actually get to SEE Maynard, as it won't be dark out until 9:00-9:30PM-ish. I can't wait!
Oh yeah, my mom's been working at DTE since it opened (as Pine Knob) and any band that plays past 11PM gets charged a ridiculous fine ... in case you didn't know.

I just hope to god its dark for 10K and Wings
But I also hear its supposed to rain.
ahaha, lawns gunna suck, but a tool concert in the rain would be cool.

I wouldn't worry ... They usually play wings/10K days towards the end of the show (third song from last) ... so it should be well past 10PM by the time they play it.
Wouldn't it be sweet if it rained DURING 10K & Wings?!

hey i have an extra ticket for the show, left center row JJ . face value + fees = 90 bucks, email [email protected], aim = aenima4386, or call me (david) 269-492-8718
This is my first time seeing them outside. I have seen them 8,9 times I da know anymore. Can't wait to see them.
We are in the pavillion M LTC I think. I have a rain poncho in the back of the Subaru if anyone on the lawn needs one. As I also double as a soccer mom during the day!!!
