Has anyone heard of Opus Dai? They are from the L.A. area, and they kick a**. They just released thier full length debut, "Tierra Tragame" on Double Blind Records. It's awsome. You can find a link to purchase the album at http://www.opusdai.com/ or check out thier mysapce at http://www.myspace.com/index.cfm?fus...20050325185910 to hear 3 of their songs.

They used to be called O.h.m. and you can download all of O.h.m.'s material free at
http://www.soundclick.com/bands/page...m?bandID=99624

or check out thier myspace at http://www.myspace.com/ohmtribute

it has four songs you can check out.

People who enjoy tool should really like this, though it is quite different from tool. Check it out, let me know what you think.

edited to add a review of the album http://www.acclaimedpunk.com/reviews...ierra-tragame/

and another with fan comments http://decoymusic.com/vb/showthread.php?t=9623

I will now briefly describe how I discovered this band (when they were O.h.m)
I was at a going away party for a friend who was moving to Oregon (from California) He finally got a copy of this band he had been telling me about, O.h.m. He popped in their e.p., Tuboda, a six song master piece. There were about 30 people there, all drinking and having a good time. As the music played, people started quieting down. The music was creating a transe like vibe in the room. About halfway through, the room was silent. Everyone was just zoned on the music. The energy was tangible. Only about three people had ever heard the band before. I was amazed that an unknown band could have this effect on a room full of drunks. It truly was magical. I will never forget it. That was about 5 years ago. I have been hyping the band ever since. It is still the same band, minus a female back-up singer, named Mahina. She really added an ethereal quality to the bands sound, but they still kick a**. They have really matured in since those early days. Do yourselves a favor, and check them out. You won't be sorry, and you'll be able to say you were listening to them before they got big.

No problem. If you go to Smartpunk.com you can pick up the album for $10 and their live e.p. for Actum Procul for $5. I had a big issue with my mail, and they were way cool about, so I have to recommend them. Beside's they have the lowest price. Thanks for checking them out. You are only the second person ever (on line) who has given any feedback. I'm glad you liked them. Spread the word.

40 views, and only one response? What's wrong with you people? You're missing out on a great band. Even if you don't like them, you must have an opinion. Let me know good, or bad. I'm cuirous to see if peolpe catch the same things I do. Of course, I've had years to digest this band, so maybe I'm expecting too much from people.

I don't want to be a dick, but maybe it's because you posted this in the creativity forums, that are supposed to be for art made by TDNers.
