Sounds to me like Tool is trying to emulate the sound of birth- ears adjusting to the world, a person speaking to the infant, everything coming into focus, and purging the past with a new life.
The crying baby is Maynard's son, Devo, as an infant. Closely read the lyrics to Pushit and the sound of the birthing baby makes complete sense on this album.

I think I know what you're trying to say and if my hunch is correct, you're way off.

That Pushit is from the baby's (Devo) perspective going through birth and being squeezed and pushed out of the womb. At first I was like wow, that's an interesting way to think of it but then only some of the song would be able to translate to that. Again, that may not have been anything close to what you were saying.

Actually, I never thought of Pushit as coming from the baby's perspective. As you said, I think that interpretation would be far off base. In fact, I don't think it's at all important who the crying baby is on Cesaro -- it's only important that it's a crying baby. I was simply letting the poster know -- as a sort of Jeopardy trivia, let's say -- that the baby happened to be Devo.
If Pushit and Cesaro were about Devo, I could see the connection to H. But I don't think that's the case.
What I was suggesting in my post was that if one reads the lyrics to Pushit they'll find a story about a man trapped in a relationship with a woman. Since this isn't a Pushit thread, i'm going to spare you a detailed interpretation from my perspective. But, in essence, the narrator wants out of the relationship and the female companion tries to use their forthcoming or new baby against him to make him stay. Finally, he's like, I've got to get the fuck out, bitch. Then we hear the baby cry in Cesaro, which directly ties into Pushit.
Does that make any sense?

Not in the slightest

I don't ever take anything personal. It's sometimes difficult to tell when someone is being serious through message boards. I didn't intend to come off as confrontational. What I meant was simply that I'd like to see your interpretation of the song and then I could better explain mine, since my message wasn't exactly coherent.

I think I'll scratch my nuts now too.
Well firstly, I should be putting my interp under the right song. Secondly, I suppose I can do that when I'm not at work later today or tomorrow.
