I'm not a stoner but it is my favorite song at the moment. I just think it is a really dense and nuanced piece of work that sounds different every time I listen to it. On my first few listens I thought it was the weakest track on the album but now I love it. It is also an amazing companion piece to Third Eye. Listen to them back to back; they are talking to each other.

I think Wings 2 is the most moving song, so I chose that. If it's just rocking out, I would have picked Jambi. Rosetta and Right in 2 are also great tracks.

who decided on the criteria for what makes a song a so-called "actual song" ? they are all (actually) songs, although loosely.

Jambi or 10,000 Days. 10,000 Days is powerful and epic, but Jambi is a good one to rock out to. I can't decide, so I'll go with Jambi.

I voted Vicarious because, as a single, it works on its own. The other songs don't really, and need to be heard in the context of the other songs to really graps their flow.

Rosetta Stoned is a really fun record, a 'Third Eye' for those of us who don't do psychedelics. Less portentous, more humor. Better in every way, and a close second for favorite track.

fuck that! lipan conjuring is my favorite. :P ok, i voted. Wings Pt1 and 2 shouldn't be separated b/c you can't listen to one without the other so I picked 2 b/c 1 is basically the intro. I have also realized that this song has become one of my all time favorite songs. that sort of thing doesn't happen frequently

Rosetta Stoned simply for the vocal diversity that maynard displays in it. Switching from a low toned kinda demonic voice, and transitioning to taht glorious voice at around 8:30

RS does get good at 8:30, but seriously, the rest of the track blows. I do appreciate the dark humor in the song and I found some snippets of the lyrics interesting, but some people goes as far as praising it as one of the best tool songs ever. makes me fucking sick.

Re: Best song on the album?
RS does get good at 8:30, but seriously, the rest of the track blows. I do appreciate the dark humor in the song and I found some snippets of the lyrics interesting, but some people goes as far as praising it as one of the best tool songs ever. makes me fucking sick.

I'm getting more and more into Rosetta Stoned, but I can never see it moving me the way Wings did (and still does to an extent).
