Hey, anybody ever go to a show here with lawn seats? I'll get there early enough to get to the front of the lawn area, but hows the view and sound typically from there?
I've been there for a couple shows.... Creed/3 Doors Down like 7 years ago (it was a free ticket), the Y100 Feztival about 3 years ago (headliners were Incubus and System of a Down), and two OAR concerts in the past year. I was in the lawn for everyone except the two OAR shows, but I was closer towards the back for one of them, which was about 50 ft from the lawn.
The lawn is a very good time, depending on what kinda group you are around. There will most likely be some kind of ignorant moshers or angry drunks around (as with any concert), but if you steer clear of them, it's a really good time. Personally, I think its nice to be able to be walk around and check things out, or if you're with a big group, they are great seats, because everyone can hang out in a group, whereas with seats, you can only comfortably talk to the people next to you.
As for the sound/visuals - if you get a seat on the front of the lawn, you will get a pretty good view of the stage. and the sound is pretty much the same as the section 200 seats. If they have clouds of smoke with laser lights throughout the seating section, it will probably look very awesome from the lawn. I really can't tell you how good the venue is for Tool, though, because I got into Tool after their Lateralus tour, so I've been waiting a couple years for this concert, and I'm thrilled.
After listening to Tool for about 2 years, they are pretty much my favorite band of all time, depending on genre, of course.
The only bad part about the lawn is if you get stuck in the back, or if the weather is shitty. I'm not too worried about it though, the show will still kick ass.
P.S. I have 2 lawn seats available - price is negotiable, tickets are pdf format from ticketmaster, so there is no worried about shipment time. Please e-mail me at [email protected].
i was front and center lawn for the NIN show and the sound is great and the visuals are going to be amazing. im going to try and be there really early too so i hope i can get front and center again. i just hope the people i have to sell tickets to at the tweeter get there early too so i dont have to wait for them. i hope i get my new cell phone before then too.
^^
I am a fellow lawn dweller aand would love to meet up. Im coming with 3 or 4 other people too. Id love to get into the venue early and pick a nice spot and have a cigar ( or cigarette).

Not to worry anyone (myself included), but I noticed on the toolband site that they cancelled a show for the 19th of Sept. and postponed one for 9/12 (both due to illness). Do you think that will impact this show? I hope not.... I have been listening to Tool almost non-stop since the release of 10,000 Days and have never seen them live... I would have a coronary if they cancelled.
I was thinking the same thing..... but, actually its the best thing that
could've happened. Maynard has plenty of time to recover, unless its
really serious.
Once your better, your immune system is strong and its nearly impossible
to get sick again right away.... He should be in good shape for the show
and we can all hope he didnt spread his flu to any of his bandmates.
Four more days.........everybody repeat after me......FOUR MORE DAYS!!!!!

it's really not bad at all. there are also screens above the lawn so you can watch more close up. as far as i remember all the times i've been on the lawn, both the view and sound are not bad.

this week should be good, considering tomorrow is my birthday and thursday im seeing Tool. and i just got done my first chem test and i dont feel like i failed miserably, but that is just because im uncharacteristically optimistic.
It looks as though Tool has played the Tweeter Center before if so how was it and, where is the best bar to go to after the show. My brother and I are following them for a fue days and are from out of town so we know nothing about the area.
oh what the fuck!? something has to be done about ticketmaster. fuck them.
HEY FELLOW TOOL FANS TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHOS IN THE TICKET BUSINESS, IT DOESNT PAY TO BUY THE GARBAGE THE DAY TICKETS GO ON SALE, JUST GOT GREAT SECTION 100'S LAST WEEK ON RELEASES AND TONIGHT THEY HAD EVEN BETTER TICKET RELEASES, THE SAME GOES FOR EVERY EVENT WITH TICKETMASTER.
Knowing that you're going to see your favorite band in a couple of days is like waiting for xmas morning when you're a kid. Only louder. The anticipation, the leading up to, and then the finality. The gifts. Sometimes exactly what you hoped for.....sometimes not. Sometimes even surpassing expectation. I've experienced the surpassing with this band. Not always, but a few times. Like there was a fifth member onstage. Can you hear what I mean? Do you know what I say? Here's hoping for a fifth member experience fellow tool fans.........two more days.....yes!

I just checked out Ticketmaster...if you click on "best seats" you get Wheelchair Section 200. I guess they're open game for anybody at this point.
If anybody wants to come up and say hi to me...I'll be the guy in the lawn area with the black "Simpsons posing as the Sopranos" shirt on (had to think of a shirt that would be different from anybody elses)

Is anyone taking the NJ Transit train in from the NE Corridor Line area? I've never done it before and the time table on the website is a bit confusing on the River Line website on how it works late at night during the week. What time should I expect to make it back to Trenton? Would it make more sense to drive and park at one of the River Line stations since I am in Princeton and pretty close to Trenton anyways?
My 50 year old Iranian mother just got tickets to go see Tool on thursday. I'm extatic and equally jealous. If you see an old looking woman I think in the 200 section (I'll confirm later), make sure to say hi from John for me. She won't know what the fuck's going on most of the time so watch your elbows during Jambi.

i'm confused. If you're driving to park somewhere, why not drive to the show???

From what I read on the NJ Transit River Line website, parking at one of the stops is free, and a one way fare is $1.25, and the train lets you off right near the gates, you don't have to deal with the traffic afterwards. Plus, I am going to the show alone, and the last 2 shows I was at the Tweeter, walking to your car and sitting through all the traffic in the parking lots afterward wasn't bad when you're with your friends, but more of a bummer when your alone in your car. Just looking for an easier way back.
shit...good points. And thats me exactly...i'm going down alone from Northern Jersey. Its probably going to take an hour just to get out of there...then a 90 minute to 2 hour ride home...fuck.

Thats the timetable for the NJT River Line, I don't exactly understand the late night service. I may just say fuck it and drive unless I find out some new information.
For those who have been to the Tweeter Center before: where is a good, conspicuous place to meet up? I've never been there before and I'm trading tickets with someone who hasn't been there before either. Are there any landmarks near the venue that would be easily noticeable to someone who's unfamiliar with the area?
