It's be nice to feel that way for a change. It'd be nice to get some indication that Tool think of their fans as something other than a cash cow.

Well, Scored 2 on the lawn. I feel lucky. I tried to go back and try for a 2nd pair and they were sold out at 10:11am. doesn't mean people should quit trying… tickets get released all morning.

I can't say for the seated tix, but for lawn/GAPIT you can list those w/o possessing a ticket, at which point you're playing ticket arbitrage.

Reserved seats were $117 plus ticketmaster charges but I wasn't able to get those. I got GA Lawn and 2 tickets came to a total of $183.00 after all charges. It took me like 10 minutes before I was able to get them and I was on exactly at 10.

Tool sold out The Gorge in under 20 minutes.

I was able to secure 2 lawn tickets at 10:10 and I know people who could not even get through. I do feel very lucky to get those 2 tickets.

At what amount do you guys decide you've had enough of padding Tool's wallet? $190? $250? $300? Asking for a friend who sets ticket prices.

$183 for 2 tickets is about normal. My wife just paid $210 for 2 tickets to Ed Sheran. Last year I paid $190 for 2 tickets for Slipknot and Marilyn Manson. Korn and Rob Zombie was about the same for 2 tickets. I don't mind spending that amount for bands that I really love. I am almost 40 and only go to 1 or 2 concerts a year now. I haven't seen Tool in almost 7 years so I am good with paying $200 for my wife and I see to my favorite band. Back in 2010 my wife surprised with a front row ticket for Tool and she paid $150 for that ticket and I would totally pay that again for front row.

Hope that helps.

Not upset about the prices. I've never been to The Gorge, but everyone has told me to put it on my to-do list. I'm pumped Tool will be my first gorge show.

I was on livenation.com and clicked "find tickets" as soon as the countdown timer hit zero. I selected 2 best available and It loaded for 6 mins and found 2 lawn tix. I let all the timers run down to :10 as I entered all my Info because I had the TM app working on my phone as well. At 9:55 I had said "fuck it" and hit find tickets on the app... It gave me a message saying "you're in line for tickets" at 10am it loaded and verified I wasn't a robot, and I put in for 2 best available. It then loaded a blank screen and sat there until I bought the lawn tickets on the laptop.

There's got to be a better way. Being "in line" 5 mins early on the TM app didn't mean shit. I did better on the laptop (on hotel wifi).

I had a similar experience. The app was horrible. I got my tickets on my desktop PC.

You will have a blast at The Gorge. This will be my 3rd time seeing Tool at The Gorge!

Gorge show is going to be great. I really should have pulled the trigger on VIP. But heard it is pretty good sound regardless of where you sit.

Hoping tomorrow we get announcements for CA shows.

So I was just on the TM Canada website and discovered they're selling single seats to the Hamilton show...$128.25...section 125...which is totally behind the stage. Sad.

It is obvious to us OGTs that this "tour" is a naked cash grab for whatever side projects (musical and non-musical) the members are working on and need a little scratch to fund them. As long as they have us by the balls with the "new album coming out any day now..." hyperbole, fans will continue to line up to see them preform Old MacDonald and Mary Had A Little Lamb if need be to get their fix. I'm with you, JAG, on the side of being sick and tired of padding their wallets for the same set list over and over. I have seen them recently and if this new tour produces the same setlist, I will be out on live shows until a new album drops. I'm tired of paying over $130 for the same show. Unfortunately, there are still multitudes of fans that have not seen the same show (or any show) for the past couple of years and want to see them in their town. I can't hate on them for being excited to see Tool live but the show is getting an old cheese smell to it and at some point market fatigue will take place. But, I don't know if that will take another two or three mini-tours or ten.

At least that stupid snow falling filter on this site has gone away. God that was so annoying.

you know, can't say i really care about their motivations for touring. Cash grab or not, going to see Tool is always an awesome experience. If i am flying to a new city with a friend, or driving down the street with my wife, i know it'll be a good time. I have seen them front row, at the rail, from both sides, seats, pit… its always new and different. If they're only touring so MJK can bedazzle his dildo collection, GREAT! Yeah i know everyone is frustrated about this album, and needs to gripe and shit on the band… but I LOVE OLD CHEESE. This time ill be eating it on the lawn with a great WA backdrop somewhere i have never been before. And, if they end up posting a date for Red Rocks, ill just use that as a reason to visit my best man in Ft Collins and see TOOL while I'm there...

I don't even need new tracks, just a fresher set list. Their back catalogue is deep enough for them to mix it up every night if they cared.

Yes, totally. This idea is my main beef with the live shows.

I love old cheese too! And I do support the "new place, new people, new experience" viewpoint. Its one I have used for the last three shows I have seen. But when you travel to see a show and incur all of the expenses with that endeavor, its kind of lame to get the same setlist, with maybe one new (old) song, as you saw six months or a year ago. If they want to keep doing that, then make the tickets cheaper please.

I don't know if I'm just in a super positive mood today, or just enjoy playing the devils advocate here… But I don't think tools ticket prices are outrageous. I go to a lot of concerts, and tool is on par with top tier headliners prices… I get more upset about the $25 in fees that Ticketmaster charges for their constant letdown of a service. Tool have produced a product that has a lot of value to me, and I'm OK with the ticket price acting as a sort of screening process, like how bad do you really want to see them? Coldplay is coming to Seattle, and I am nowhere near a fan… I would probably only recognize a couple of their singles. But I have heard they have a great performance and if tickets were $30-$40 I would consider going. I would just rather not have those types of people around me at tool shows. I want to be surrounded by people who would sell their souls for a better ticket. Diehards. Save the iHeartRadio teenyboppers for the festival shows. My least favorite tool show was the one in Las Vegas at the Pearl, only because the people around me were all socialites who didn't really appreciate tool and only got their tickets as part of a room package. Also, it was at the end of a very long 10,000 days tour and the band really did seem to lack energy. It felt like the menoteny of playing the same set for a year and a half, but I could only imagine what kind of last minute work it would take for Junior and the crew to rework all the AV techno choreography every night.

Optimistic me says they're going to announce the 3rd leg of this tour, sell it out, then drop the album and play a bunch of new stuff.

My guess-list:

Lateralus
New Jam
R. Stoned
Opiate
Descending
Intermission
Drums
46&2
Intention
Patient

Damnit... I think that's still too optimistic

Probably is. I really hope they put lateralus back in. Iv also really been hoping for a return of Rosetta.

Honestly though i wouldn't be shocked for them to play the same set and just replaced the opener again like this last tour.

Because the light show is awesome and it would build up to patient nicely... Which would be a tongue in cheek message in the face of the "new album" bullshit.
