As far as the art being too simple - 1.) We are looking at poor quality reproductions. 2.) Even still from what I can tell its kinda complex, albeit only one page of several.

THIS IS NOT THE NEW ALBUM ART. Look, that guy who released this stuff said he found it on his fucking server. He´s "supposedly" a guy in the graphics industry, and that server serves as a server for the Tool artwork to be printed. Wouldn´t it be more logical that any leaks found there would be in a significantly higher quality? For printing? Those 380x350 pics are totally worthless. They´re only good for web use. Further, if you take any random cd boklet, you´ll notice that the front and the back of it is actually ONE SHEET (whoa), the offset printing machine prints the front and the back at one time (sounds unbelievable i know), so we would rather see the front AND the back of the booklet in one pic. If that guy wanted to have any credibility, he should upload the original printing files (which would be several megabytes in size), but nah, he made some super lo res jpegs which are easy to hook up onto image shack. F-A-K-E.

I ALMOST believed the other picture but now after seeing this, it's going into my fake cover fault forever.

I've been told by a few people that this is the real cover, I'm not sure if it is but I have yet to see it here and it seems pretty authentic..

The thing that cracks me up the most is that you guys know EVERYTHING from a small image. If you actually read what she said, they were color matching for the slip case, NOT printing the actual booklet. If thats the case, (and according to her its going to be semi-transluscent black, white, and gold) then it could be likely that they were only sent a few files for averaging. It makes sense why she wouldn't have access to a plethora of higher resolution images just for a damn slip case. For all we know, she works in a plastic facility.

As for the yam bag thing, how can you even tell? From what she says, the depth is SICK. Granted, I dont know how she can tell from *those* images, but if things are floating, there would be some type of edge fidelity distinction to separate it from its background.

edit: plus it looks like a fist to me. kinda ties into the more violent / political vibe we have been hearing about.

It seems to me you are the only person who thinks they aren't good. For christ's sake we are talking about reproductions of a reproduction at a small scale... Yes, no one can say for sure at that size, but even at that dimension they *still* look good and I am giving it the benefit of the doubt that the devil is in the details. I'm starting to think they could release the actual album art (or already did) and you would still think it sucks.

Just because the art doesnt fit into your magical mystical esoteric idealism about what Tool's art is supposed to look like doesnt mean its bad. Its ashame you need everything completely clear for you and spelled out. Enter a bit of abstraction and your brain begins to break down. Its truly amazing to watch.

Supposedly it'll be released with some sort of sleeve, like Lateralus, only more partial and transparent. Butterfly coming out of the cocoon (viceroy butterfly-- viscera) and all that nonsense.

"Clé d'Or" is French for "Golden Key." I think "The Veil" goes back to the idea of the cocoon, but I'm not so sure on that.
