Personally I think this info is all real. When Lateralus came out, there was a bunch of fake shit, therefore, there's reason to be skeptical of this.

Also, this might all possibly be really good fake information, and on April Fool's they'll give REAL new info and no one will believe it.

if this is real what do you think the theme is? Lets be honest, the Lateralus artwork clearly expressed some major ideas of the album...this stuff just looks random and disoriented...almost like <gulp> the With Teeth cover.

Even Undertows artwork made sense without hearing any of the music. After looking at the tracktitles, album title, and then looking at this artwork, nothing makes sense - know what i mean? I find that to be troubling...in other words SOMETHING is not real here.

hm i don´t know. That logo doesn´t look too good. Look at the logo on Lateralus. It is far better than this one, there is harmony in the typo, while the Davis´ one is based on the Lateralus logo, it is a variation from it, though in a lesser graphical quality. Also, by typographical means, it is too far near the edge of the page. It is "stuck" there. And really, that artwork looks too similar to the works of that ISIS guy and other contemporary generic "cool album artworks". Just another vectorgraphics artwork. Tool would rather try to let their new work "stick out" of the rest of cds in the store.

My guess is, this is just a random album artwork sketch by someone, not related to Tool in any way. Something a design student would have made in a couple of hours. Another five minutes to add the logo and title, and done.

I think this artwork is a fairly weak hoax, given that the "Tool" text has clearly just been lifted from the front page of toolband.com. Additionally, I'm fairly sure somebody said this was going to be used as a transparency (a la the lateralus outer sleeve/booklet) and I think the text would be too small if this is the case. However, I quite like this for an album cover. I agree with the person who compared it to Radiohead's more recent cover art (specifically "I Might Be Wrong")

I've just realised that people were talking about several different images, one of which is actually the cover of Kid A with "Tool" written over Kid A. That's a really weak effort.
