What do you hope to get for them? I may be willing to pay.

lol. I got no tickets for Philly... I'll be VIP in NY though. Go me. Considering how well I can count on people in events like these and the lesson I've learned about human nature, I don't know if I even want to go anymore.

Imagine, I have 4 VIP jobs, and only myself going. 3 of them are going to waste. All I wanted was to go to the Philly show as well. LLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMEEEEEEE

I'll most likely be arriving later because I'll be working and have to drive into the city. There is a parking garage behind the joint and you should be able to chill there.

Re: 2006/05/17 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre

sorry didn't read posts from yesterday. we should all meet at the bar inside. they open 3 hours before the show that's smart. more places should do that. they'll make more money on drinks. PM me if you'll want to hang out. none of my friends are gonna shell out the scalper prices so i'll be going all alone :(

Re: 2006/05/17 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre

I realize my timing must seem impeccable, but I tried posting something to this effect very early Saturday morning with no luck. So here goes, better late than never as I see it:

I started reading this thread very late the night before tickets went on sale. I was suprised and impressed with the general level of cooperation and camaraderie I was seeing. I wanted very much to join in the cause. Then I read that the co-op groups would be closed as of the previous Thursday. This let me down, but not as much as when I learned that the number of tickets per person had been reduced to two. Seeing that I needed two tickets to begin with, there didn't appear to be much that I could help at that point.

However, reading this thread gave me insight into the process of buying tickets that I would not have otherwise been fortunate enough to have. As it turns out, thanks to the advice of a few members (opening multiple browser windows and limiting my refreshes), I was able to get the two tickets I was hoping for. While I am grateful for my good luck in this respect, I can't help but feel bad for those who put in so much more time and effort and came away empty-handed.

I've paid broker prices in the past. I've gone through ebay when I had no other choice. After seeing everyone come together on this thread, I realize that no one should have to be forced to live with that fate. We can make a difference. The scalpers won't go away on their own, but if we can recruit enough people, we can turn the odds back in our favor.

I know this was a long post with no real point but to tell my story and express my gratitude, but I really feel that without many of you, I would not be in the position I'm in to see this great band in such a unique venue.

I hope that when the next tour comes around, there will be an army (pun intended) of fans looking to help each other out, and with any luck, beat the scalpers, if only for a day. You can count me in at the very least.

Re: 2006/05/17 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre

Hey bro,
If anybody in our groups has extra I am sure they would help you out. Don't sweat the group thing. Most of us did okay but some of us did not - some got tickets for NYC but not Philly. Its hard to really see how it shook out but nobody is complaining so I'm thankful for that. Hopefully everybody's needs are met.

If you don't have a ticket yet just post here every day or so - asking for an extra.
I've been doing that for the NYC shows - if somebody helps me out it would be great, if no then oh well.

They'll be back after the European Tour to play more dates, and if the ticket limit is more than 2 we could probably be far more helpful to each other. I refuse to pay a broker or go on eBay because I'd rather just wait until then. I wouldn't mind paying a Tool fan on the board more than face but the NYC tix are over $300 each, which is just greedy and silly.

So hang out here and post. Hopefully somebody w/ an exta will be cool enough to send you a PM.

haha chilling out in a parking garage, full of exhaust fumes, would make for one kick ass show.

im willing to hang out before the show. i'll try to convince my friends to head there early. do they card for letting people in before the show, since they have the bar open? damn only a year until i dont have to worry about that shit anymore.

I'm pretty sure there is a bar space inside - I don't know how carding works but I'm pretty sure they don't do it at the door.

they probably do it at the bar.

my one friend that might go with us if he can find a decently priced ticket is like 6'5" and looks at least 30, im wondering if they would even bother carding him. this guy is fucked up crazy. he went to Madrid with the orcestra at Penn State and he walked around after midnight talking to gypsies drunk. if he cant get us anything to drink its no big deal, but about 4 beers and a shot of whiskey would make the show more interesting. i bet they charge a lot though.

do you need tickets to get into the bar? because I was planning on meeting up with Harry_manback_1970 who got a ticket for me. but he also might be coming later than me. so then we would need to exchange by mail.

we should all do it at the bar (heheheh)

if you all are under 21 then we should hang outside. we've got 3 weeks to decide. so for just now we'll plan on hanging out somewhere. also I hear mass transit is the best way to get there. there's a train station right near the theater and traffic is usually a mess.
also I wanted to thank My.Thirdeye for his kind words. someday the scalpers will get their's and we will all be there laughing at their graves.

i wouldnt mind being sober, but a buzz makes social events more fun and easier to handle for me. anyway, prices just dropped for brokers and my friend would pay me back if i get him a ticket.

im planning on getting him the loge ticket on there for 215. does anyone think the price will drop again soon, or will it sell before that happens? quick answer please, haha.

Yes. I think being on drugs at shows is retarded.. I've been drunk at a show, but it didn't make it any more fun than it already was.

I'd hold off on buying a ticket right now from a broker. They all seem to have a bunch of tickets available, and will surely drop the prices as the date nears.

I'm not saying we should be trashed for the show that would be a waste of time. but a beer or 2 before the show with some new friends would be fun.

I'm not saying it's not fun to be drunk at a concert, but for THIS concert, I'd rather be completely coherent and not dull my memory of the experience.

edit: ^True about having a beer beforehand with new friends.

i found one for 205, and my friend really doesnt think he should miss this experience. i also want him to be able to sit with me and my other friend so if i could get him a loge seat it would be great, im just afraid the loge seats will be gone or still 300 bucks a piece when it comes down to the wire. if they went down to around 150 or even 175 in a couple of days that would be great, but then they might be gone really quick. as of right now im 75% to 25% decided to wait, any arguments to waiting?

anyone hear anthing about an opening act yet?
If there is one, who would you like it to be (just wishful thinking) mars volta, spock's beard, Mini Kiss, or a local act would be cool.
The show is at 9 so there might not even be one.

Mars Volta opened the first time I saw APC and I thought they put on a bad show. Their music is okay, but live... eh, not so much.

hey man sorry you didnt get tickets. our group only ended up with 2 for the whole group. and the other groups had very few extras. there just wern't enough for everyone. I dont know how the other groups decided who to give the extras to. I think it was more or less the squeeky wheel getting the grease. who ever said they neened tix over and over got the extras. now mostly we're looking for the lowest scalped tix. that's the only way to help out if the tix are all gone. keep posting if anyone gets their hands on extras you'll be the first to know. don't ive up you still have 3 weeks.

I think it's really stupid that electribe had 3 extras, hooked 1 person up, and said "oh i'm putting the other 2 on ebay and if they don't sell then i'll sell them to people here"

They're her tickets so he/she can do whatever she wants with them though, I guess.

Re: 2006/05/17 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre

i know the situation in our group and i respect that, but i see others who are posting theirs on ebay? the whole point of this thing was so that WE wouldn't have to use ebay and pay ridiculous prices. so when they have extras, where do they go? ebay. duh. the point was to keep the prices low for us, not try and make a buck. ya know? so since you ignored that point, i figured i'd clarify it myself. of course this doesn't go for all of you, but you better hope it doesn't come back to bite you in the ass.

They're her tickets so he/she can do whatever she wants with them though, I guess.
hooked up someone not on the co-op nonetheless

I think the 2-per-person ticket limit fucked everything up. The co-op was started on the basis of people being able to buy 4 apiece, because that's what everyone initially thought. Most people needed 2 tickets anyway, rendering the co-op pretty much useless.

am i the only one who didn't get get tickets or hooked up from someone on here? if so then the whole thing wouldn't have been useless had everybody stuck by the initial agreement. there's no excuse for that. your words are redundant, we all know what happened.

don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. I'm sure there are more than a few people who got tickets and didn't tell the group, just look at how many people haven't been posting since saturday. either they didn't want tickets that bad, or they got tickets and didn't tell the group. but posting on the board that you're selling tickets on ebay instead of the group is a shitty thing to do. did he post before he sold them asking if extras we're needed? or did they go stight to ebay. he did buy one from a scalper so he had every right to sell that one at cost.
they only consilation i can give you is we'll make sure you get a ticket in august when they come back around. anyone who didnt get tix this time will be first in line to get good seats next time. hopefully we can all get pit tix and be up front together.

Re: 2006/05/17 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre

I would have sold my extra ticket to the group, but now I've got my best friend (also a Tool fan) going with me. Now I don't have to drive 6 hours from VA Beach to Philly by myself. If I'd have been able to buy 4, the 2 extras would have gone here.

I did order one ticket from a scalper before they went on sale, and assuming that doesn't fall through, I'd sell it here at cost.

I don't think my words are completely redundant. I'm saying that I think the co-op would have done better in general had the limit been 4, and in reality it was rather pointless. I do agree that it seems kinda shitty to be involved in the co-op, then try to ebay the tickets before posting them for sale here.

i've seen tool three times in arenas. the point was to see them in, perhaps, the coolest, most intimate venue in town where i might enjoy a show and perhaps it would sound good too. i would be very surprised if i would be unable to get tickets for an arena show. i doubt there will be a co-op for that because there really wouldn't be a purpose, unless it was simply a trade for floor/seats or people with surplus of either and someone wanted in on that. but still, they'd at least be able to get in the show because arenas don't sell out very quickly. do you know what i mean? there's no reason to try and give me some sort of consolation, it's rather black and white. do i sound ungrateful? hell yeah! is it unwarrented? hell no!

why not stop trying to give explanations and do something about it, which is what this co-op was founded on.

the words were redundant because it was postulated that it would be fucked up once the news hit that there were only 2 per sale, and then confirmed when it did actually happen. it's been thoroughly discussed and that's that.

Re: 2006/05/17 - Upper Darby, PA - Tower Theatre

If I had a dollar for every time someone on this forum repeated a thought that someone else had already made ENTIRE THREADS about, I'd have enough money to buy scalped tickets for everyone here, beers for everyone before the show, and maybe even a bean burrito for the drive home. In light of that, I don't think I was THAT redundant =P

Anyway. How many do you need? 1? 2? If you just need one, I'd be glad to sell you my extra (ASSUMING tixcity.com doesn't end up telling me "oh, we don't have your ticket) when it comes in. But I won't know until the end of the week, they tell me...
